Buffalo, NY – Brian Wroblewski
American Mariner was here from the evening of July 19th until the evening of the 21st with wheat from Duluth for General Mills. The Mariner’s sister ships followed her to Buffalo during late July and early August. John J Boland was first with sand for Canadian Silica on the morning of the 30th. She came in without tugs around 4 AM and unloaded all day, shifting spots on the wharf multiple times. A wet, sticky cargo was causing a long unload and the crew had a hard time down in the conveyor tunnels. They were whacking away with sledgehammers and running the vibrators to get all the product out. Next up will be the H. Lee White with wheat for the Frontier elevator on Sunday the 1st.
