Duluth Entry: American Mariner departed at 20:45 (CST) Sunday night empty for Marquette. Joseph L. Block arrived at 21:32 to unload limestone at CN#6; they’re expected to load at the same dock after unloading. Kaye E. Barker arrived at 22:13 to unload limestone at CN-Hallett #5. Clyde S. VanEnkevort and Erie Trader arrived at 04:13 Monday morning to unload limestone at Graymont. Kaye E. Barker departed at 06:17 empty for Marquette. Radcliffe R. Latimer arrived at 07:40 to load iron ore pellets at BNSF. Clyde S. VanEnkevort and Erie Trader departed at 14:49 empty for Silver Bay. Finally, James R. Barker arrived at 16:35 to load coal at SMET. As of Monday night, Joseph L. Block was unloading at CN#6, Federal Dart was unloading at CRH, and Algoma Guardian was waiting at anchor to load at CN#6. BBC St. Petersburg is expected early Tuesday to load wheat at CHS#1; she might anchor outside Duluth on arrival. James R. Barker is estimated to depart early morning with coal. Joseph L. Block is estimated to depart late afternoon with iron ore pellets; Algoma Guardian should arrive once they depart. Paul R. Tregurtha is expected Tuesday night to load coal at SMET. Finally, Edgar B. Speer is expected late Tuesday night to load at CN#6.
Superior Entry: Stewart J. Cort departed at 00:42 (CST) Monday morning with iron ore pellets for Burns Harbor. Michipicoten arrived at 01:09 to load at BNSF; she departed at 07:09 with iron ore pellets for Sault Ste. Marie. As of Monday night, Radcliffe R. Latimer was loading at BNSF and CSL Welland was at anchor waiting to load at Two Harbors. Radcliffe R. Latimer is expected to depart early Tuesday with iron ore pellets. Due to delays, Algoma Guardian and/or CSL Welland might change orders to load at BNSF; if not, no other traffic is expected in Superior until Thursday.
Northern Lake Michigan
Charlevoix: Monday; After spending Sunday at anchor along the east shore of Beaver Island Caroline McKee / Commander proceeded to the St Marys Cement plant arriving there at 3:15 to load. 3:39 Prentiss Brown / St Marys Conquest arrived and tied up along the break wall at the St Marys Cement plant.
Holland, MI – Bill Van Appledorn
Arriving from Meldrum Bay, the Manitowoc entered Lake Macatawa at 6:15 AM Monday and had its boom out by 7:30 AM at Verplank’s. At 10:30 it moved on to Brewer’s dock to unload a split load of stone.
Muskegon, MI – Muskegon Ships
The classic cement carrier Alpena called on the Port of Muskegon on Monday, August 2. She came with a split load of cement for the Lafarge Terminal.
Northern Lake Huron
Bruce Mines: Monday; 1:00 Algoma Intrepid departed for Toronto.
Drummond Island: Sunday; 21:19 Laura L Van Enkevort/ Joseph H Thompson departed for Fairport.
Calcite: Monday; 11:29 Saginaw arrived to load limestone.
Stoneport: Monday; 11:43 Defiance / Ashtabula arrived to load limestone.
Goderich, ON – Bruce Douglas.
Algoma Innovator cleared 7.47 pm Saturday upbound for Chicago with salt. Algoma Niagara arrived 12.03 pm Monday loading at Compass Minerals. This is Niagara’s sixth appearance in Goderich this season for salt.
Lake Erie Ports for Monday – Bill Kloss
Marblehead: Dorothy Ann/Pathfinder arrived at 13:46.
Sandusky: Robert S. Pierson loaded coal and departed at 06:07 for the Soo.
Cleveland: Algoma Buffalo arrived at 13:16 and will take on another load of salt from Cargill. NACC Capri departed for Bath at 18:23. Federal Satsuki
Nanticoke: Algocanada and Algosea are at anchor off of Port Dover. Presque Isle arrived at Stelco late Monday night.
Seaway – Rene Beauchamp, Yvan Gingras
Tug V.B. Hispania towed the former Algoma Spirit, her name shortened to PIRI for the tow, from Montreal on Monday morning. Algoma Spirit, damaged in a grounding late last December, is being taken to Aliaga, Turkey, for scrapping. Tug Shari Lynn S. was on the stern.
