Duluth Entry: James R. Barker departed at 05:01 (CST) Friday morning with low sulfur coal for St. Clair. As of Friday night, Mesabi Miner was still loading at CN#6. Mesabi Miner is estimated to depart sometime Friday night or Saturday morning with iron ore pellets. Maria G. may depart sometime Saturday with wheat. Paul R. Tregurtha is expected Saturday evening to fuel then load low sulfur coal at SMET.
Superior Entry: Indiana Harbor departed at 06:37 (CST) Friday morning with iron ore pellets for Conneaut. As of Friday night, Maria G. was loading wheat at CHS#1. Traffic isn’t expected until Sunday.
Two Harbors-Silver Bay – Gary A. Putney
Two Harbors saw Walter J. McCarthy Jr. depart on 12/17 at 03:50. As of 18:00 on 12/17 her AIS hasn’t been updated. Due in Two Harbors on 12/18 are Great Republic, which had been anchored between Baraga and L’Anse. Also due on 12/18 is Edwin H. Gott. She had been anchored South of Whitefish Pt. Northshore Mining in Silver Bay saw the departure of the Joyce L. VanEnkevort/Great Lakes Trader on 12/17 at 05:15. As of 18:00 on 12/17 her AIS hadn’t been updated. There is no scheduled traffic for Silver Bay on 12/18.
Thunder Bay, ON
Thursday; Frontenac weighed anchor and departed for Port Colborne. Friday; 12:05 Tim S Dool departed for Quebec City. 17:02 Federal Ruh departed for Quebec City.
Southern Lake Michigan – Stephen Sostaric
South Chicago: Fortunagracht arrived Friday morning.
Indiana Harbor: John D. Leitch remained in port on Friday.
Buffington Harbor: Defiance/Ashtabula arrived from Calcite on Friday night.
Port of Indiana – Burns Harbor: Federal Elbe remained at the port on Friday.
Goderich, ON – Bruce Douglas
Sunda arrived 10:42 Friday morning and eased up to the elevators; this is her first appearance here this season. Algoma Intrepid arrived at 11:05 Friday morning to load at Compass Minerals; this is the Intrepid’s 32nd appearance in Goderich this season. Algoma Innovator is expected next at Compass Minerals.
Lake Erie Ports – Bill Kloss
Monroe: American Century arrived at 15:03 to unload at DTE.
Marblehead: Olive L. Moore/Menominee departed for Marine City at 06:10. Herbert C. Jackson moved to the dock at 08:07 to load for Lorain.
Sandusky: Michipicoten left for Nanticoke. Sam Laud loaded coal at Norfolk Southern and departed for Detroit at 15:13.
Cleveland: NACC Argonaut departed for Bath, ON at 06:46 and G.L. Ostrander/Integrity went to Lafarge at 06:02. She unloaded and then left for Alpena at 19:20. Chestnut, Peyton Lynn C and Federal Dart are all at the Port.
Fairport Harbor: H. Lee White left Thursday night for Toledo.
Nanticoke: Algoma Hansa is at Imperial Oil and Harvest Spirit is at Stelco. Michipicoten arrived at Stelco at 12:33.
Seaway – Rene Beauchamp
The last two new ships of the season upbound will be ALI KA for Sarnia and FEDERAL FRASER for Hamilton. No pilot orders yet. Despite being very late in the season, the BBC EDGE will leave Montreal for Thunder Bay later this weekend.
