Two Harbors-Silver Bay – Gary A. Putney
The Indiana Harbor departed Two Harbors on 12/26 at 01:52 for Conneaut. The John G. Munson was due Two Harbors on 12/26 late in the afternoon, but went to anchor near Sand Island. The Edwin H. Gott and Joseph L. Block are due Two Harbors late in the day on 12/26, but with blizzard warnings up on the North Shore until 18:00 on 12/27 they possibly could be looking to anchor. The American Spirit is due Two Harbors on 12/27. As of 18:30 on 12/26 she was near Whitefish Pt. Have to see if she puts in to wait out weather. Northshore Mining in Silver Bay has no scheduled on 12/27.
St. Marys River
Traffic on a sunny Sunday included upbounders Lee A. Tregurtha, Algoma Discovery and American Spirt. Downbounders included Great Lakes Trader, Great Republic, Pere Marquette 41/Undaunted and Mesabi Miner. Unusual for this time of year, there is no ice in the river.
Grand Haven, MI – Tyler Fairfield
Wilfred Sykes was in port unloading Sunday. When she departed she headed north to Duluth.
Goderich, ON – Bruce Douglas
No traffic to report. Algoma Innovator and Algoma Buffalo expected in that order..
Lake Erie Ports for Sunday – Bill Kloss
Monroe: Sharon MI/Huron Spirit departed for Sault Ste.Marie at 09:57.
Kingsville: Cuyahoga arrived at 18:23 to unload at Southwestern Sales Corp.
Marblehead: Cuyahoga departed at 14:42 with stone for Kingsville.
Sandusky: H. Lee White is at Norfolk Southern.
Cleveland: Olive L. Moore/Menominee left for Detroit at 12:17. McKeil Spirit departed for Picton at 15:23.Defiance/Ashtabula arrived at 16:01. Petite Forte/St. Marys Cement is at St.Marys Jefferson St. terminal and American Courage is running shuttles.
Ashtabula: CSL St. Laurent is at the Pinney dock.
Nanticoke: Florence Spirit went to Stelco at 09:19. Algoma Hansa is at Imperial Oil and Algonova departed at 18:00 for Sarnia.
Seaway – René Beauchamp
The chemical tanker Harbour Fashion is likely the last foreign vessel of the year to transit the Seaway on its way up. On December 24, it entered the St-Lambert lock, destination Hamilton.
