Duluth-Superior – Scott Bjorklund
Duluth Entry: Paul R. Tregurtha arrived at 16:44 (CST) Saturday afternoon for winter lay-up at Port Terminal. As of Saturday night, Paul R. Tregurtha and James R. Barker were laid up at Port Terminal. No other vessel traffic is expected until late March.
Superior Entry: As of Saturday night, Lee A. Tregurtha and Burns Harbor were laid up at Fraser shipyards and Elevator M. American Century, the last arrival for winter lay-up, is expected Monday morning at Lakehead Pipeline.
Two Harbors-Silver Bay – Gary A. Putney
The Indiana Harbor departed on 01/14 at 22:20 for Gary. She’ll be the last commercial vessel downbound on Lake Superior for the 2021-2022 shipping season.
Thunder Bay, ON
Friday; 18:40 CCGS Samuel Risely resumed ice operations in preparation for Manitoulin’s departure for Goderich. 20:27 CCGS Samuel Risely departed for Sarnia and led the way for Manitoulin to the open lake.
Marquette, MI – Arthur Pickering
The shipping season came to an end on Thursday when the Manitowoc departed the ore dock here in Marquette enroute to Toledo. It’s been a good season and with the last departure, this will be our last report for this shipping season. We look forward to the 2022-2023 shipping season. Have a good lay-up/off season and see you all in the spring!
Northern Lake Michigan
Brevort: Saturday; 6:10 the tug Erika Kobasic resumed ice operations in preparation for Defiance /Ashtabula’s departure at 8:47 for Buffalo. Erika Kobasic departed for Escanaba.
Charlevoix: Thursday; 7:16 Caroline McKee / Commander arrived at the St Marys plant to load cement products and departed Friday at 2:01 for Chicago. 18:28 Bradshaw McKee / St Marys Conquest arrived at the St Marys plant to load cement products and departed at 23:33 for Cleveland.
Goderich, ON – Bruce Douglas
Capt. Henry Jackman arrived at 16:36 this afternoon Saturday and was tied up to the North wall in the basin. This is the Jackman’s 1st appearance this season in Goderich. John D Leitch and Algoma Intrepid are expected in that order.
Lake Erie Ports – Bill Kloss
Toledo: American Integrity and Manitowoc both arrived to lay up. Sharon MI/Huron Spirit arrived at 17:16.
Erie: Presque Isle and Kaye E. Barker arrived to lay up.
Nanticoke: CSL Assiniboine departed for Windsor at 10:02. Frontenac arrived at 20:47! to unload at Stelco. Algonova and Algonorth are at Imperial Oil and Algoma Hansa remains at anchor.
