Duluth-Superior – Scott Bjorklund
Superior Entry: American Century arrived at 13:29 (CST) Monday afternoon as the 5th and last vessel to arrive for winter lay-up in the Twin Ports. They will be spending their lay-up at Lakehead Pipeline. This will be the last report for Duluth-Superior, so see you next season!
Northern Lake Michigan
Straits of Mackinac: Monday; 8:16 USCG Mackinaw departed Mackinaw City. At 10:30 she began escorting the tug Michigan and tanker barge Great Lakes for Green Bay and Anglian Lady / IronMaster for Calumet to open water. 12:19 USCG Mackinaw escorted Edwin H Gott for Toledo and Algoma Niagara for Goderich back to the Straits of Mackinac. Indiana Harbor for Gary, Algoma Sault for Chicago and Samuel De Champlain for Milwaukee had been at anchor at the edge of the heavier ice west of the Straits of Mackinac and at 16:00 USCG Mackinaw began escorting them to open water on Lake Michigan.
Charlevoix: Monday; 15:08 Caroline McKee / Commander was due at the St Marys plant but went to anchor on the east side of Beaver Island off of Martins Bluff for weather.
Northern Lake Huron
Owen Sound: Sunday; 21:23 Robert S Pierson departed for winter layup in Sarnia.
Alpena: Sunday; 23:22 Samuel De Champlain / Innovation departed for Milwaukee with assistance from the tug Manitou. 23:25 Manitou returned to her dock in the Thunder Bay River.
Goderich, ON – Bruce Douglas
Manitoulin finished at the elevators; they cleared the port at 12:05 Monday downbound for the Barn (Sarnia). She will probably tie up there for winter.
Lake Erie Ports – Bill Kloss
Anchored in northern Lake Erie are Arthur M. Anderson, Calumet, Manitowoc and John D. Leitch.
Toledo: Bradshaw McKee/St Marys Conquest arrived at 02:35, went to anchor, then arrived at St. Marys at 11:51.
Cleveland: Sharon MI/Huron Spirit arrived at 01:53 to unload steel coils at the Port.
Buffalo, N.Y. – BrainWroblewski
The Defiance-Ashtabula arrived for Canadian Silica on the 17th and was towed in by the Vermont at 11:30AM. Vermont broke ice for them too while the American Mariner is still at anchorage waiting to come in for Winter lay up at the Frontier Elevator.
