St. Marys River – Roger LeLievre
USCG cutters were opening a track in the lower river Wednesday in anticipation of the upbound passage Thursday of the tanker Algonova, which will be unloading at the Purvis Dock in the lower harbor on the Canadian side. The tug Anglian Lady/barge Ironmaster, also bound for Soo, ON, has been stuck in the Straits west of the Mackinac Bridge for several days and it appears as if the efforts of CCGS Griffon to free her have so far been unsuccessful.

Northern Lake Michigan 
Sturgeon Bay: Tuesday; 12:43 USCG Mobile Bay departed for the Straits of Mackinac.
Straits of Mackinac: Tuesday; 18:27 USCG Katmai Bay stopped west of the Round Island Light. CCGS Griffon continued ice operations. Wednesday;7:33 USCG Katmai Bay departed for the St Marys River. 15:51 USCG Mobile Bay arrived at the Straits of Mackinac and stopped at 16:05 west of the Round Island Light. CCGS Griffon stopped in the same area. 17:23 CSL Assiniboine for Milwaukee went to anchor north of Bois Blanc Island to await escort. Anglian Lady / Iron Master remain anchored west of the Straits of Mackinac in Lake Michigan. 

Milwaukee, WI – MKE Marine Reports
Bradshaw McKee/St. Marys Challenger arrived from Charlevoix at 17:51 Tuesday and tied up at the Kinnickinnic River terminal. Algoma Intrepid arrived at 07:51 Wednesday (01/26) with deicing salt from Goderich. She backed into the inner harbor and dropped her load on the Compass Minerals discharge pad. Caroline McKee/Commander was stopped in Milwaukee Bay about a mile southeast of the breakwater light. The tug/barge is headed to Charlevoix from Calumet Harbor. Expected Thursday is CSL Assiniboine with deicing salt from Morton, Windsor. With Milwaukee’s inner harbor now completely ice covered, G-Tug North Dakota has been kept busy breaking ice.

Northern Lake Huron 
Cheboygan: Wednesday 10:31 The tug Manitou departed for Alpena. 10:36 The tug Michigan and tanker barge Great Lakes departed for Port Huron to lay up. 
St Marys River: Wednesday; USCG Katmai Bay and USCG Biscayne Bay conducted ice operations.

Goderich, ON – Bruce Douglas
Algoma Niagara is expected in Goderich next.

Lake Erie Ports – Bill Kloss
USCGC Morro Bay arrived in Cleveland at 18:50 after icebreaking duties on Lake Erie.  Algonorth made her way through the ice from Sarnia to Nanticoke, arriving there at 19:38.
