Straits of Mackinac: Thursday; 17:35 USCG Katmai Bay arrived at US Coast Guard Station St Ignace. Friday; 7:15 Algoma Intrepid had been anchored north of Bois Blanc Island since Tuesday was underway for the Straits of Mackinac. 9:24 USCG Katmai Bay departed St Ignace to escort Algoma Intrepid to Lake Michigan. With a well cut track to follow and more favorable ice conditions Algoma Intrepid crossed the Straits of Mackinac at 8:34 and was down bound on Lake Michigan for Milwaukee. 10:34 USCG Katmai Bay returned to US Coast Guard Station St Ignace arriving there at 11:51. 14:41 USCG Katmai Bay departed for Sault Ste Marie.
