Duluth, MN – Superior, WI – Joshua Hebeisen
Infrequent Twin Ports visitor John J. Boland made a 07:14 arrival in Duluth with limestone and dolomite for CN-Hallett Dock 5. She loaded her cargo over the weekend in Calcite and Cedarville and is due next just across the harbor at SMET to take on petroleum coke after Federal Mayumi. The Mayumi was still at the dock as of Monday night, keeping the Boland waiting at Hallett. Burns Harbor arrived Superior at 09:12 for BNSF Dock 5 in Superior, and Michipicoten is waiting off the piers for her turn after dropping anchor around noon. Duluth received its second limestone and dolomite shipment of the day when Joseph L. Block made port at 21:06 to unload at CN Dock 6’s receiving hopper. As the Walter J. McCarthy Jr. remains at the shiploader, the Block was forced to tie up at the southern end of the dock until the footer departs. Off the Duluth piers is Federal Caribou; she is tentatively expected to arrive Tuesday morning to load agricultural products at Gavilon. Of note, thick fog in the harbor on Monday night may be delaying the departures of several vessels in port.
Two Harbors, MN – Silver Bay, MN – Gary Putney
Edwin H.. Gott arrived Two Harbors on 07/01 at 23:17 and she departed on 07/02 at 8:32 for Nanticoke. The Edgar B. Speer arrived Two Harbors at 12:22 on 07/02 and departed on 23:16 for the Gary Works. Spruceglen arrived Two Harbors on 07/03 at 00:04 and departed at 19:10 for Quebec City. H. Lee White arrived Two Harbors on 07/03 at 10:54 and departed on 07/4 at03:36 for Algoma at the Soo. CSL Assiniboine arrived Two Harbors on 07/04 loading for Quebec City. Dirk S. VanEnkevort/Michigan Trader arrived Cliffs North Shore Mining on 07/04 at 06:04 and depart at 13:40 for Toledo.
Marquette, MI – Joshua Hebeisen
Lee A. Tregurtha arrived at 19:03 to load Tilden pellets alongside the LS&I dock. She tied up under the northern chutes.
Milwaukee, WI – MKE Marine Reports
Viking Octantis cleared for Mackinac Island at 14:35 Sunday beginning an eight day cruise to Toronto. Ocean Navigator cleared for Mackinac Island at 23:49 Sunday as part of a ten day cruise to Toronto. After delivering about 22,000 tons of slag at the St. Marys grinding plant, Algoma Intrepid cleared at 01:22 Monday. Bradshaw McKee/St. Marys Conquest arrived from Charlevoix at 23:02 Sunday with cement for the Kinnickinnic River Terminal.
Southern Lake Michigan Ports – Joshua Hebeisen
Calumet Harbor, IL: G.L. Ostrander/Integrity were outbound for Muskegon at 08:13 after discharging cement at Holcim.
Buffington, IN: Arriving from Calcite with stone at 06:58 was ASC footer American Spirit. As on her last trip to the port, she may only be unloading a portion of her cargo.
Gary, IN: American Integrity was a 21:12 arrival for the north end of the dock.
Burns Harbor, IN: The day’s vessel traffic ended just ten minutes after midnight when Dorothy Ann/Pathfinder departed the west harbor arm for Brevort. Federal Montreal and Lubie remain at Metro Ports and FMT Burns Harbor, respectively.
Goderich, ON – Bruce Douglas
Saginaw arrived 08.14 Saturday and at elevators, cleared 7pm Sunday downbound for Sarnia Algoma Niagara arrived 7.47 Sunday loaded at Compass Minerals, cleared Monday upbound for Clarkson with salt. Algoma buffalo arrived early Monday loading at Compass Minerals, salt for Hamilton, eighth appearance this season here for her.
Detroit, MI – Windsor, ON – Joshua Hebeisen
After a late-night drink of fuel at Mistersky, Atlantic Huron headed upbound the Detroit River for Two Harbors at 01:01. An hour later, Kaye E. Barker arrived from Sandusky and tied up at EES Coke on Zug Island, likely to unload coal; she would continue upbound en route to Marquette at 11:14. Classic steamer Alpena shifted from Holcim to Mistersky at 05:30 before departing for her namesake port at 08:05. Clyde S. VanEnkevort/Erie Trader were upbound from Toledo later in the morning, stopping for fuel between 10:40 and 14:12 on the way to Superior. Also arriving from Toledo was Federal Frontier at 11:23. The saltie tied up at the Nicholson dock and remained there as of Monday night. CSL’s Rt. Hon. Paul J. Martin was inbound from Lake Erie at 21:14, at which point she proceeded up the River Rouge and stopped just off of the St. Marys facility. Florence Spirit spent the day at ADM after arriving in Windsor during the early-morning hours.

Toledo, OH: Today’s arrival was the M/V James R. Barker Departures were Florence Spirit, Clyde S. VanEnkevort/Erie Trader, Prentiss Brown/St. Marys Challenger and Federal Frontier.
Marblehead, OH: American Courage arrived at 01:14 to load stone at Holcim.
Sandusky, OH: Blair McKeil is at Norfolk Southern loading coal.
Cleveland, OH: Prentiss Brown/St. Marys Challenger arrived at 16:01 to unload cement at the St. Marys Columbus Street terminal.
Ashtabula, OH: CSL Welland arrived at 14:29 to unload at the Pinney dock.
Erie, PA: American Mariner arrived at 15:48 toi unload stone at Carmeuse.
Nanticoke, ON: Whitefish Bay left late Sunday night for the Twin Ports. Algocanada is at Imperial Oil.
Buffalo, NY – Brian Wroblewski
The Algoma Conveyor arrived at 3:45AM for the Gateway Metroport Main Dock in Lackawanna this morning. She was unloading salt there from Goderich on the bulk apron at the North end of the slip.
