Buffalo, NY – Brian Wroblewski
Unloading operations were all done on the evening of the 14th and the Keith was ready to depart by 8PM. The Vermont came down from Buffalo to help her and they headed out for the lake from Lackawanna with another stern first tow.

The next morning on the 15th, the Charley showed up with her windmill parts from the anchorage at 9AM. The Vermont was a little late getting there from Buffalo so the big salty did a doughnut in the lake off the breakwall to kill it for just enough time to meet her tug at the South Entrance at the right moment. The Vermont then helped them dock bow first in the Lackawanna Canal and get secured at the Gateway Metroport Main Dock. Once the pilot released the tug, the Vermont’s captain told him to tell the Captain sorry for being late and thanks for the tow. After unloading of Charley’s windmill parts began, a large dockside crane was used to place the riser tube sections directly onto special railroad flat cars for delivery to a project in downstate New York. The Charley is expected to be in Lackawanna for a few days to complete this unload.
