Duluth, MN – Superior, WI – Joshua Hebeisen
With approximately 63,000 tons of Keetac pellets from BNSF Dock 5 in her holds, American Integrity cleared the Superior piers at 06:08 bound for the U.S. Steel Gary Works. Rt. Hon. Paul J. Martin weighed anchor and arrived at the dock shortly after 07:00, where she would take on a load of taconite less than half the size of the Integrity’s. Making a rare appearance in port at 08:20 was Algoma Central Corporation’s 2019-built Algoma Conveyor. Although the young vessel arrived via the Duluth Entry, she crossed state lines within the harbor to discharge her salt cargo at Superior’s EnviroTech-Hallett Dock 8. 1,004-foot Mesabi Miner got underway from CN Dock 6 mid-morning and departed Duluth at 10:58 with taconite for Indiana Harbor; meanwhile, Captain Henry Jackman went on the hook off Superior in preparation to load at BNSF. The Canadian newbuild would get her chance after the Martin’s 17:19 departure for Quebec City, finding herself under the conveyors just over an hour later. Algoma Conveyor left Duluth for Thunder Bay at 19:02, and American Century, due next at SMET, arrived Superior at 23:25 to take a delay at Enbridge. Minervagracht is still unloading quartz at the port terminal before an anticipated departure on Monday.
