Duluth, MN – Superior, WI – Joshua Hebeisen
At 02:33, the Captain Henry Jackman’s captain guided Algoma’s newest vessel outbound the Superior piers for Quebec. The 30,000 tons of Hibtac pellets in her holds from BNSF Dock 5 will eventually be shipped overseas by an oceangoing vessel. Just up the bay at Enbridge, American Century continued her overnight delay before casting off for the trip up the harbor to SMET just after 06:00. Dirk S. VanEnkevort/Michigan Trader and Paul R. Tregurtha came off the lake early afternoon, with the tug/barge combo arriving the Duluth Ship Canal at 14:10 with limestone for C. Reiss. They are expected to shift over to BNSF after finishing the unloading process. The Tregurtha, on the other hand, would wait off the piers until the departure of the Century at 19:05, at which point the Queen made her own arrival at 19:44. ASC’s 1,000-foot behemoth was fully loaded with 68,000 tons of coal for St. Clair and Monroe, and the Paul R. soon tied up at SMET to take on an identical load. Earlier in the afternoon, Minervagracht departed Duluth empty around 15:00 to load in Thunder Bay.

Two Harbors, MN – Gary Putney
After the Spruceglen departed Two Harbor she is heading for Quebec City After the CSL Laurentien departed Two Harbors she went up the North Shore between Isle Royale and the Canadian shore. Late Sunday afternoon the Oakglen was still in Two Harbors finishing her load for Quebec City.

Port Inland, MI – Joshua Hebeisen
Fleetmates Wilfred Sykes and Joseph L. Block arrived and went to anchor shortly before noon. Defiance/Ashtabula departed for Green Bay at 15:17, allowing the Block to proceed inbound for the dock at 16:01 before leaving for Port Dolomite at 23:48.

Milwaukee, WI – MKE Marine Reports
After dropping deicing salt on the open dock, Calumet cleared for Calcite at 21:36 Sunday. After delivering cement at Lafarge, G.L. Ostrander/Integrity cleared for St. Joseph at 07:39 Monday. Undaunted/Pere Marquette 41 arrived at 13:13 and headed for the Heavy Lift Dock to load ash.

Southern Lake Michigan Ports – Joshua Hebeisen
Indiana Harbor, IN: Burns Harbor departed Indiana Harbor for the Duluth-Superior Harbor at 04:04.
Buffington, IN: Lee A. Tregurtha departed at 09:14 for Marquette; American Spirit arrived two hours later from anchorage before departing at 19:45, also for Marquette. The footer’s recent runs to Buffington are extremely rare and just one leg of an unusual trade pattern keeping her busy this summer.
Gary, IN: John G. Munson departed at 06:09 for Port Inland, while larger fleetmate Edgar B. Speer was inbound from Two Harbors at 21:42.
Burns Harbor, IN: James R. Barker arrived at 03:19 for Cleveland-Cliffs with ore from Superior.

St. Joseph, MI – Benton Harbor, MI – Michael Moran
The G.L. Ostrander/Integrity arrived in St. Joe at 16:26. The pair will unload cement overnight and is due to leave around 0700 on Tuesday morning the 19th for South Chicago/Calumet River.

Northern Lake Huron Ports – Joshua Hebeisen
Bruce Mines, ON: Michipicoten arrived at 22:30.
Meldrum Bay, ON: Calumet was inbound from Milwaukee at about 23:00.
Calcite, MI: H. Lee White departed at 06:56 for Detroit as Hon. James L. Oberstar proceeded inbound simultaneously. Arthur M. Anderson joined the Oberstar in port at 08:33, while Laura L. VanEnkevort/Joseph H. Thompson and Great Republic arrived to anchor at 11:00 and 14:30, respectively. The Anderson left for Marine City at 22:43, the Oberstar departed for the Twin Ports less than an hour later, and both anchored vessels made port around 23:45 to take their place at the docks.
Stoneport, MI: Dorothy Ann/Pathfinder arrived from the Saginaw River at 01:12 before making a 12:25 departure for Cleveland.

Detroit, MI – Windsor, ON – Joshua Hebeisen
Whitefish Bay got a jump start on the new week when she departed the Windsor Salt dock for Sterling Fuels at 00:30. The Trillium-Class laker got underway for Chicago at 03:45 as American Mariner was inbound, also for fuel, but at Mistersky. 05:36 would see the American boat continue her journey upbound to Calcite. After unloading her coal cargo, Kaye E. Barker departed EES Coke at 10:25 en route to Stoneport. Joyce L. VanEnkevort/Great Lakes Trader visited the Motor City from 19:18 to 22:07 to grab fuel at Mistersky, and Algoma Innovator remains across the river at ADM.

Lake Erie Ports – Bill Kloss
Toledo, OH: CSL Niagara arrived at 05:01 and anchored in Lake Erie. Wilf Seymour/Alouette Spirit departed at 09:47. Saginaw left for Sault Ste. Marie at 13:43 and Joyce L. VanEnkevort/Great Lakes Trader for Calcite at 14:36. Resko is still at Kuhlman’s and Clyde S. VanEnkevort/Erie Trader is at Ironville.
Sandusky, OH: John D. Leitch departed for Bowmanvile at 10:09.
Cleveland, OH: Wagenborg’s Beatrix arrived at 06:14 and went to dock 22E at the Port. Federal Columbia and Federal Yukon are still at the Port. American Courage is on the shuttles.
Ashtabula, OH: Maxima is at the Pinney dock where her cargo of ferrochrome is being unloaded.
Nanticoke, ON: Leaving at 13:27 was Edwin H. Gott with a destination of Two Harbors. Harvest Spirit is at Stelco.

From a reliable source comes the news that McKeil Marine has purchased the bulk carrier JOHANNA G currently at anchor in Turkey. This news is yet to be confirmed, however.
