Lake Erie Ports (12/14) – Bill Kloss
Monroe, MI: Harvest Spirit arrived and unloaded steel coils.
Sandusky, OH: Michipicoten left with coal for Algoma Steel at the Soo. Herbert C. Jackson arrived to load at Norfolk Southern.
Cleveland, OH: Laura L. VanEnkevort/Joseph H. Thompson is running a few shuttles as is American Courage. A good sign for the Cliffs mill. Polsteam’s Isadora departed for Indiana. Inbound to Cleveland are the salties Federal Dart and Qamutik.
Ashtabula, OH: Herbert C. Jackson departed for Sandusky. Cuyahoga is at Conneaut Creek Ship Repair.
Conneaut, OH: Defiance/Ashtabula is at the P&C dock.
Buffalo, NY: Calumet docked at 05:48.
Nanticoke, OH: Paul A. Desgagnes departed for Sarnia, ON. Defiance/Ashtabula is at Stelco and Federal Clyde arrived from Cleveland and anchored off of Port Dover. She will load steel coils.
Lake Erie Ports (12/13) – Bill Kloss
Marblehead, OH: Laura L. VanEnkevort/Joseph H. Thompson loaded stone and departed for Cleveland.
Sandusky, OH: Algoma Niagara departed with coal for Hamilton, ON. Michipicoten was next to arrive at the Sandusky Coal Dock.
Cleveland, OH: Algoma Buffalo departed with salt for Hamilton, ON. Harvest Spirit arrived at the Port to unload half of her steel coils. She berthed at Dock 22E. Laura L. VanEnkevort/Joseph H. Thompson arrived at the Bulk Terminal to unload scrubber stone. Once empty, the tug and barge loaded a shuttle. Federal Clyde departed for Nanticoke and following almost in her wake is Harvest Spirit, heading for Monroe, MI, leaving Isadora as the only ship still at the Port. American Courage willl load another shuttle once the Thompson clears the dock.
Fairport Harbor, OH: Defiance/Ashtabula was erroneously reported as going to Buffalo. She arrived at Osborne early in the morning to unload stone. She left for Conneaut in the afternoon.
Ashtabula, OH: Herbert C. Jackson arrived with stone to unload at the Pinney dock. Greenwing has departed for Port Colborne, ON. Cuyahoga is in port.
Conneaut, OH: Defiance/Ashtabula arrived to load at the P&C dock.
Nanticoke, OH: Algonova left with petroleum products for Green Bay, WI and John D. Leitch is headed to Milwaukee, WI. Paul A. Desgagnes is at Imperial Oil. Algoma Transport arrived at Stelco very early Wednesday morning.
Buffalo, NY – Brian Wroblewski
The HOLLYHOCK was working aids to navigation off Buffalo on the 13th. They spent most of the day changing out the Summer for Winter markers before departing the area that evening.
The CALUMET arrived from Brevort with a split load of sand for the Gateway Metroport West Dock on the morning of the 14th around 5:30AM. She winded out in the lake off the South Entrance, backed in for the Lackawanna Canal, and docked at the North end of pier. They only unloaded there for about two hours before dropping lines and heading straight up the Outer Harbor for the Buffalo River. She went up to CSI by herself to finish off the rest of the partial cargo around 9AM.
