Duluth, MN – Superior, WI – Joshua Hebeisen
Loaded with a cargo of Keetac pellets from BNSF Dock 5, rare visitor Saginaw departed Superior at 06:11 en route to the Soo’s Algoma Steel plant. She is due back on Tuesday to take on one last load of taconite before the Twin Ports commercial season officially draws to a close.

St. Marys River – Know Your Ships
Traffic was sparse Sunday, the last official day of the shipping season. In the morning, the tug Anglian Lady/barge Ironmaster left the Purvis dock in the lower harbor downbound for Calumet. Joseph L. Block followed her down in the early afternoon headed for Toledo. Victory/barge Maumee should be down in the late evening. Two other vessels remain en route to the locks and will be accommodated before the locks shut down for the winter. Tug/barge Presque Isle and tug/barge Defiance/Ashtabula should arrive sometime Monday. Saginaw is downbound for Algoma Steel and is expected to make one more run before laying up at either Algoma Steel in the Canadian Soo or at Thunder Bay.

Escanaba, MI – John Chown
Algoma Intrepid arrived Saturday afternoon, plowing through Bay de Noc ice to unload salt, with tug Jimmy L. assisting.

Sturgeon Bay, WI – Anonymous
The Clyde S. VanEnkevort and Erie Trader arrived at Bay Ship this morning, coming in from the bay of Green Bay. They are now at berth 11. Looking at Marine Traffic the John G. Munson, Joyce L. VanEnkevort/Great Lakes Trader and the Walter J. McCarthy all show Sturgeon Bay as destinations right now. The Munson and Joyce L. look like they’re waiting out weather in southern Lake Michigan, the McCarthy is upbound on Lake Huron.

Lake Erie Ports – Bill Kloss
Cleveland, OH: American Courage unloaded at the Bulk Terminal, then delivered to Cliffs. Mark W. Barker weighed anchor to unload 26,000 tons of UTAC pellets at the Bulk Terminal after the Courage cleared. Fleetmate James R. Barker went on the hook to wait for Mark to unload. The smaller Barker moved to the Port dock once empty. Dorothy Ann/Pathfinder unloaded at RiverDock then departed for Toledo. New York/Double Skin 509A is unloading at the Marathon terminal. Sam Laud moved from the Port dock to the Bulk Terminal to load a shuttle.
Conneaut, OH: Great Republic departed for layup in Toledo. Philip R. Clarke was next to arrive in the continuing parade of boats with ore for the P&C Dock.
Erie, PA: Kaye E. Barker arrived for layup.
Buffalo, NY: Manitowoc delivered to CSI Sands.
Nanticoke, ON: Algocanada departed with gasoline for Green Bay, WI. Algonova arrived to load at Imperial Oil.
