Lake Erie Ports – Bill Kloss
January 22
Even though the season is winding down, there is still some activity on Lake Erie. Karen Andrie/Endeavor delivered in Monroe, MI and departed for Burns Harbor, IN after finishing the offload. Interlake’s Herbert C. Jackson is loading ore at Torco in Toledo for Detroit and American Courage still has a few shuttles to Cliffs left. The Great Lakes Fleet’s tug and barge Presque Isle arrived in Erie, PA for layup, joining Kaye E. Barker there. Also arriving in Erie was the Victory and barge Maumee, having sailed to Erie from Ashtabula.

January 23
In a surprise move, after unloading in Dearborn, MI, Herbert C. Jackson was originally scheduled to load one more ore cargo in Toledo, but a change of orders found the classic laker headed to Cleveland for that next load. She arrived at the breakwall in Cleveland at 19:45 and proceeded to the Bulk Terminal to load.  Meanwhile, American Courage continues on the shuttles for Cliffs. The only other moves on the lake involve H. Lee White, who is slowly making her way to Buffalo and is now anchored in Lake Erie due north of Vermilion, OH. The tanker Algonova is headed to Imperial Oil in Nanticoke, ON.

January 24
Cleveland, OH: Herbert C. Jackson loaded 21,000 tons of Tilden pellets at the Bulk Terminal and departed for Dearborn, MI. American Courage is on the shuttles.
Nanticoke, OH: Algonova anchored off of Port Dover for a bit then docked at Imperial Oil.

January 25
There is still some activity on Lake Erie as the classic Alpena arrived in Cleveland for layup with a storage cargo of cement. American Courage continues running the shuttles to the Cliffs mill on the Cuyahoga River. On the eastern end of the lake, Algoma Tankers Algoterra anchored off of Port Dover while fleetmate Algonova loads at Imperial Oil. Finally arriving in Buffalo was the H. Lee White to layup at General Mills Frontier elevator.

January 26
Monroe, MI: New York/Double Skin 509A arrived to unload liquid asphalt at the Port dock.
Cleveland, OH: American Courage is shuttling for Cliffs.
Nanticoke, OH: Algonaova left with petroleum products for Sarnia, ON. Algoterra and Algosea are at anchor off of Port Dover.

January 28
The tug New York and tank barge Double Skin 509A are at the Port of Monroe dock unloading liquid asphalt. Finally done with the shuttles to the Cliffs mill in Cleveland, American Courage headed to Ashtabula for a well earned rest for the crew. Over at Nanticoke, Algoterra is loading at Imperial Oil while fleetmate Algosea remains at anchor off of Port Dover, ON.

Buffalo, NY – Brian Wroblewski
The H. Lee White arrived on the morning of the 25th for General Mills. This is her 1st ever winter storage load & only the 4th self-unloader to lay up in Buffalo with grain.
