USCGC Bristol Bay made another quick pass through the Soo on Friday afternoon while giving the icy river a one-over. Perhaps sick of the sights at Lime Island, the cutter and her crew are spending the night off Twin Island Nature Preserve instead. Leonard M/Huron Spirit are loading coils at Purvis Marine in preparation for a weekend departure.

A quiet day on the St. Clair River saw Iver Bright depart Suncor for Detroit, MI, at 04:14.

Detroit, MI – Windsor, ON – Joshua Hebeisen
CCGS Griffon left the Dieppe Gardens at 09:00 for a trip back down to Amherstburg, ON. Iver Bright was inbound Detroit about an hour later, tying up just inside the mouth of the River Rouge to handle liquid bulk. Morning action continued with a quick Detroit River icebreaking excursion by USCGC Neah Bay and an eventual 10:45 departure from Morterm by McKeil Marine’s Harvest Spirit. The latter’s early jump on the season will continue with a trip to Nanticoke, ON.

CCGS Griffon returned home safe and sound at 10:44 Friday morning.
