Algoma Discovery back in service after fire

Algoma Discovery departed Port Colborne, ON, for Two Harbors, MN, last Tuesday. On Feb. 27 she suffered an engine room fire, which observers feared would doom the 36-year-old Croatian-built Algoma Central Corp. bulk carrier. Launched as Malinska, she later sailed as Daviken before being brought into Great Lakes and Seaway service when Algoma purchased her in 2008.
