Duluth, MN – Superior, WI – Scott Bjorklund
Duluth Entry
American Century departed at 02:46 (Central) Tuesday morning with low sulfur coal for St. Clair. Arthur M. Anderson departed a few hours later at 04:38 empty to load iron ore pellets at Two Harbors. Algoma Discovery departed at 17:36 Tuesday evening with iron ore pellets for Hamilton. Mesabi Miner arrived at 18:49 to load iron ore pellets at CN#6. Finally, Michipicoten arrived at 00:55 Wednesday morning to also load at CN. As of Wednesday night, Mesabi Miner was loading at the CN shiploader while Michipicoten loads under the gravity chutes. Mesabi Miner may depart sometime Thursday morning; Michipicoten may depart in the morning or afternoon. Clyde S. VanEnkevort will be Duluth’s next arrival, expected Thursday evening with limestone for Graymont.
Superior Entry
Stewart J. Cort arrived at 01:14 (Central) Tuesday morning to load at BNSF; they departed at 13:19 with iron ore for Burns Harbor. Burns Harbor arrived at 23:43 to load next at BNSF. As of Wednesday night, Burns Harbor was still loading at BNSF while G3 Marquis waited for their turn outside Superior. Burns Harbor is estimated to depart Thursday morning.
Two Harbors, MN – Gary Putney
Dirk S. VanEnkevort/Michigan Trader arrived Two Harbors at 14:32 to load pellets for probably Toledo. The Presque Isle arrived Two Harbors to load pellets.
Lake Erie Ports – Bill Kloss
Toledo, OH: Algoma Transport departed for Hamilton. Evans Spirit is at Midwest Terminals and Joyce L. VanEnkevort/Great Lakes Trader arrived to unload ore at Ironville. She left for Marquette once empty. Lee White arrived at CSX.
Kingsville, ON: Cuyahoga is anchored in Lake Erie off of Point Pelee after suffering an engine room fire. Freighters Radcliffe R. Latimer and Indiana Harbor stood by to assist. Both have since continued on to their destinations, The Latimer to Port Daniel, PQ and the Indy Harbor to Cleveland, OH. Tug Ecosse is on her way to tow the Cuyahoga to an unknown destination.
Sandusky, OH: Manitoulin departed with coal for Algoma Steel at Sault Ste. Marie.
Cleveland, OH: Dorothy Ann/Pathfinder departed with salt for Green Bay, WI. Prentiss Brown/St. Marys Conquest arrived to unload cement at St. Marys Columbus St. facility. After assisting in the Cuyahoga fire incident, Indiana Harbor arrived at the Bulk Terminal with 60,000 tons of UTAC pellets. Sam Laud is running another shuttle to Cliffs. Sea Eagle II/St Marys Cement II was a late night departure.
Nanticoke, ON: Algocanada departed for Sarnia, ON with petroleum products.
