Marquette, MI – Noah H.
On Wednesday, Joseph L. Block departed for the usual Indiana Harbor at 15:59, clearing the dock for the Hon. James L. Oberstar. The Oberstar completed her load on Thursday morning and departed for Detroit at 08:13. The next traffic after the Oberstar would not be until early Friday morning with the 02:02 arrival of fellow Interlake classic Kaye E. Barker. An unload of stone from Stoneport before the Barker loaded ore meant the Victory/Maumee had to anchor in the bay upon her arrival at 16:55. The duo was able to take the Kaye’s place at 21:14 as the latter departed for Detroit. The dredge work in the southern dock area has bottlenecked traffic in recent days. Future traffic will include the Lee A. Tregurtha.
Muskegon, MI – Noah H.
Herbert C. Jackson made another somewhat uncommon visit on Thursday with her 09:09 arrival, bringing stone from Meldrum Bay. Herbie would be outbound for Port Inland at 17:46 after completing her unload at Cobb Verplank. The dock’s next visitor would be on Friday with the arrival of the Manitowoc, coming from Manistee to unload. The river class vessel came through the piers around 18:00 and remains there until Saturday.

The Vermont was back on the scene to help the NACC Alicudi out at 14:00 on August 2. She was made back aft to check the stern swing on the way down to the Watson Basin and they dropped the tow line right around the Skyway. The Alicudi then took off on her own for the Holcim loading dock at Bath, Ont.
Nanticoke, ON – Bill Kloss
Algoberta arrived very early Saturday morning to load at Imperial Oil.
