Duluth, MNSuperior, WI – Scott Bjorklund
Duluth Entry
Michipicoten departed at 07:23 (Central) Wednesday morning with Minntac pellets for Algoma Steel. Joseph L. Block arrived at 10:59 that same morning with limestone from Carmeuse quarries at Port Inland and Cedarville intended Hallett Dock 5. The Block departed empty at 22:14 Wednesday evening to load sinter in Silver Bay.

Indiana Harbor arrived at 07:18 Thursday morning to fuel before loading iron ore pellets at CN #6. Brand-new Navibulgar vessel Vezhen arrived at 11:17 to load wheat at CHS #2.

John G. Munson arrived at 00:20 Friday morning with limestone from Cedarville destined for Graymont. Tug Ecosse arrived with a barge at 03:03 that morning. Viking Octantis arrived at 03:31 to drop off and pick up passengers. Steamer Arthur M. Anderson arrived at 07:28 with limestone for Hallett Dock 5. Finally, Indiana Harbor departed at 14:02 with Minntac pellets for the Pittsburgh & Conneaut dock on Lake Erie.

As of Friday afternoon, John G. Munson was loading at Hallett Dock 5 while Arthur M. Anderson was unloading at the same dock. BBC Utah continues to sit outside the harbor waiting to load wheat at Riverland Ag, Arthur M. Anderson is estimated to depart Friday evening empty for Two Harbors. Hon. James L. Oberstar is expected Saturday mid-morning with limestone for Graymont. American Century will be arriving soon after to fuel before loading low-sulfur coal at SMET. John G. Munson may depart sometime in the afternoon. Finally, Algoma Transport is expected late evening carrying salt for Envirotech-Hallett #8.

Superior Entry
Algoma Guardian departed at 12:25 (Central) Wednesday afternoon with iron ore pellets for Hamilton. Rt. Hon. Paul J. Martin arrived to load iron ore next at 12:51.

The Martin departed at 05:21 Thursday morning with iron ore pellets for a long trip down the seaway to Quebec City. John D. Leitch arrived at 06:00 that same morning to also load for Quebec City; they departed through Superior at 20:28 Thursday night. Finally, Stewart J. Cort arrived at 21:21 that same evening to load at BNSF.

As of Friday afternoon, Stewart J. Cort was still loading at BNSF. Walter J. McCarthy Jr., which has been at Lakehead Pipeline for several days, was preparing to shift to load iron ore at CN #6. Vezhen was loading at CHS #1. Stewart J. Cort is estimated to depart late Friday evening with iron ore pellets. CSL Laurentien is expected Saturday late afternoon.

Two Harbors, MN – Gary Putney
Edwin H. Gott departed Two Harbors on August 18 at 08:39 for Nanticoke. Edgar B.Speer at approximately 18:00 is near Keweenaw heading for Two Harbors.

Silver Bay, MN – Gary Putney
Lee A. Tregurtha departed Silver Bay on August 17 after loading pellets for Toledo. Joseph L. Block arrived Silver Bay after unloading stone in the Twin Ports. She loaded sinter in Silver Bay for Marquette. Some of the information for this site was gleaned from a post by David Schauer. Thanks, David.

Monroe, MI – Bill Kloss
Undaunted/Pere Marquette 41 departed for Alpena.

Toledo, OH – Bill Kloss
Saginaw is at Kuhlman’s and Dirk S. VanEnkevort/Michigan Trader is at Ironville.

Marblehead, OH – Bill Kloss
American Courage departed to Fairport Harbor and John J. Boland moved to the dock to load.

Sandusky, OH – Bill Kloss
Kaye E. Barker departed to Zug Island with coal. American Mariner then moved under the loader.

Cleveland, OH – Bill Kloss
Calumet arrived at the Bulk Terminal, then went to Cliffs after a short stop at Ontario Stone. Mark W. Barker loaded road salt at Cargill and departed for South Chicago. Also leaving was Sea Eagle II/St. Marys Cement II to Detroit. Arrivals were the cruise ship Ocean Voyager to the Port passenger berth, Sam Laud to Shelley Materials Allied dock, and Mesabi Miner going to anchor in Lake Erie. New York/Double Skin 509A is at Marathon. Ocean Voyager departed for Detroit at 18:04.

Grand River, OH – Fairport Harbor, OH – Bill Kloss
Joyce L. VanEnkevort/Great Lakes Trader departed to Detroit for fuel once empty. American Courage anchored in the lake, then went to Osborne later in the night.

Nanticoke, ON – Bill Kloss
After unloading at Stelco, Atlantic Huron departed for Thessalon. Algoberta and CSL Niagara were at the Port Dover anchorage, and later in the evening, both boats went to their respective docks, Algoberta to load at Imperial Oil and the Niagara to unload at Stelco.
