Two Harbors, MN – Gary Putney
Presque Isle departed from Two Harbors at 10:26 for Nanticoke. Philip R. Clarke departed Two Harbors at approximately 17:50. The Clarke is heading for the Gary Works. Edgar B. Speer is stopped in Duluth waiting on Two Harbors. She should be the next to load.
Thunder Bay, ON – Joshua Hebeisen
Another successful trip to Lake Superior in the books, Algoma Innovator cleared the T-Bay breakwaters at 00:41 Saturday morning en route to Toledo, OH. The bow-boomed newbuild had entered port empty on Friday following a rare salt delivery to the Keweenaw Waterway. Upon arrival, the vessel’s time in the Canadian Lakehead would be split between Viterra’s A and B elevators, where she took on a load of grain, potash, or other agricultural products for delivery to the Glass City.
At 06:53, Federal Dee would arrive from the anchorage for a day of loading at P&H. Keeping the saltie status quo stable in port, Polsteam’s Resko would depart at 18:03 for Montreal, QC, with a load from Richardson Main. CSL’s Thunder Bay would arrive at 19:45 to load at Viterra B, her seventh trip to her namesake port this season.
Other vessels spending their Saturday in port included Vectis Pride at Viterra A and Verila at MobilEx. The trio of Torrent, Mamry, and Federal Bristol are hanging out at anchor, a far cry from the massive fleet awaiting potash just last week.
Grand Haven, MI – Ferrysburg, MI – Noah H.
Algoma Compass visited on Saturday, arriving at 09:44 from Bruce Mines with a load of stone for the Verplank dock. It’s the first Grand Haven visit since late July for Algoma’s river class laker, but there were several years between visits before that. At 18:32, the Compass headed back out to the lake to start the journey to Port Inland.
