Two Harbors, MN – Gary Putney
September 21
As of 16:00, Indiana Harbor is loading in Two Harbors, having arrived at 09:03. She departed at 20:57 for Conneaut. Edwin H. Gott is off Copper Harbor heading for Two Harbors.
September 22
Edwin H. Gott departed Two Harbors late afternoon for the Gary Works. Presque Isle should arrive Two Harbors at approximately 17:45.
September 23
Presque Isle departed Two Harbors at 14:53 for Nanticoke. At 18:00, the Edgar B. Speer is probably within an hour of the Two Harbors shiploader.
September 24
Edgar B. Speer departed Two Harbors at 11:11 for the Gary Works. John G. Munson is upbound after clearing Whitefish Bay on its way to Two Harbors.
September 25
Great Republic departed Two Harbors at 11:01 for the Gary Works. John G. Munson was originally showing a Two Harbors destination but is now waiting off Duluth.
September 26
John G. Munson departed Two Harbors at 11:20 for Gary. Edwin H. Gott is east of Copper Harbor heading for Two Harbors.
Silver Bay, MN – Gary Putney
September 21
James R. Barker arrived at Silver Bay at 03:33, departing at 23:33 for Burns Harbor.
September 22
Dirk S. VanEnkevort/Michigan Trader arrived Silver Bay mid-to-late afternoon.
September 23
Dirk S. VanEnkevort/Michigan Trader departed at 12:22 for Toledo.
Marquette, MI – Noah H.
American Spirit arrived at 11:45 on Thursday, September 21 to load at the northernmost dock. On Friday, Lee A. Tregurtha arrived at 15:17 to occupy the opposite side. Before they could get too comfy together, the Spirit departed for Toledo at 17:46 following a 30-hour visit. The LAT would remain for the rest of the evening.
Marquette, MI – Arthur Pickering
The Maumee arrived at the ore dock on Saturday, September 23. The Hon. James Oberstar was due in on Sunday morning as well as the Great Lakes Trader. The Lee Tregurtha was scheduled for a Monday evening arrival.
Milwaukee, WI – John Vogel
Cement carrier Alpena was back at the Holcim silo in Milwaukee’s inner harbor on the morning of Friday, September 22.
Grand Haven, MI – Ferrysburg, MI – Noah H.
Caroline McKee/Commander arrived at 03:22 Thursday, September 21 to unload cement at the St. Marys dock up in Ferrysburg. That process would take less time than in recent trips, and the duo was outbound for Chicago at 19:04. Undaunted/Pere Marquette 41 is due up next.
Detroit River – Mike Nicholls
NACC Antigua was unloading at the Holcim dock in Detroit on Friday, September 22. To my knowledge, this is the first NACC ship that has come here.

Arriving late Thursday night was Paul R. Tregurtha with coal for DTE.
September 22
Paul R. Tregurtha departed Friday morning for Superior, WI. Friday afternoon saw the arrival of American Century with another load of coal for DTE.
September 23
American Century headed to the Twin Ports of Duluth-Superior once empty at DTE.
September 26
Mark W. Barker is at the Port dock where she will be loaded with bottom ash for Alpena.
Toledo, OH – Bill Kloss
September 21
Arrivals were Manitoulin to unload grain at Mondelez International (formerly Nabisco) and Joyce L. VanEnkevort/Great Lakes Trader with ore for Ironville. Also visiting was Radcliffe R. Latimer going to Midwest Terminals.
September 22
Departing were Joyce L. VanEnkevort/Great Lakes Trader for Marquette, Manitoulin for Algoma Steel at the Soo, and Radcliffe R. Latimer for Port Daniel, PQ.
September 23
Evening arrivals were Algoma Transport to CSX and American Spirit to Torco.
September 24
Algoma Transport loaded coal at CSX and left for Hamilton. American Spirit departed for Marquette. Federal Shimanto and Federal Yoshino are both at Midwest Terminals. Prentiss Brown/St. Marys Challenger arrived in the afternoon to unload at SMC Toledo. Evans Spirit was a late-night arrival, making it three’s company at Midwest Terminals.
September 25
Prentiss Brown/St. Marys Challenger unloaded a partial cargo and then departed for Cleveland. Still at Midwest Terminals are Federal Shimanto, Federal Yoshino, and Evans Spirit.
September 26
Still at Midwest Terminals are Federal Shimanto, Federal Yoshino, and Evans Spirit. Arrivals were Albert/Margaret to the Gradel dock, Victory/Maumee to CSX, Dirk S. VanEnkevort/Michigan Trader to Ironville, and H. Lee White to CSX. G.L. Ostrander/Integrity unloaded at Holcim and then departed for Alpena, and Victory/Maumee left for Sault Ste. Marie.

CSL Niagara arrived to load coal at Norfolk Southern. She left for Nanticoke once loaded.
September 23
After unloading at Carmeuse in Lorain, American Mariner arrived at Norfolk Southern to load coal. CSL Niagara is on the “Stelco Shuttle” as she returned and went to anchor in Lake Erie. The afternoon saw the Transport leave for Sault Ste. Marie and the Niagara move to the dock.
September 24
CSL Niagara loaded coal and left for Hamilton, ON.
Lorain, OH – Bill Kloss

American Mariner delivered 32,000 tons of limestone to Carmeuse.
September 26
H. Lee White unloaded 32,000 tons of Calcite limestone at Carmeuse and then left for Toledo. Laura L. VanEnkevort/Joseph H. Thompson arrived to unload equipment needed by other vessels in the fleet. Once done with that, the combo departed for Port Colborne, where Joseph H. Thompson will be scrapped. The tug will go into layup after delivering the barge to Marine Recycling.
Cleveland, OH – Bill Kloss

Tug Petite Forte and her barge St. Marys Cement went to Holcim on Elm St. rather than SMC Jefferson St. as reported previously. VTB’s Clyde S. VanEnkevort/Erie Trader departed for Stoneport after unloading at the Bulk Terminal. Fednav’s Federal Yoshino arrived with steel to be unloaded at the Port, going to Dock 24W. After running a few shuttles for Cliffs, American Courage departed with no updated destination on her AIS.
September 22
Arrivals were Royal Wagenborg’s Volgaborg to the Port, Dock 24E with steel coils and plates, and Dorothy Ann/Pathfinder with stone for RiverDock. Federal Yoshino is still at the Port, and Calumet is at Osborne. Petite Forte/St. Marys Cement departed for Bath, ON.
September 23
Arriving were Sharon MI/Huron Spirit with steel coils going to her usual berth at Dock 24N at the Port and Wilfred Sykes with stone for Cliffs. Departing were Dorothy Ann/Pathfinder to Drummond Island and Volgaborg to Detroit. After unloading at Osborne Calumet went to the Bulk Terminal to load a shuttle. Federal Yoshino is still unloading at the Port. The evening saw both Sharon MI/Huron Spirit and Wilfred Sykes leave, the Sykes to Drummond Island and Sharon MI to Sault Ste. Marie.
September 24
08:34 saw the arrival of cruise ship Hamburg to the Port passenger dock. The tug/barge combo Sea Eagle II/St. Marys Cement II arrived and is at the SMC Jefferson St. terminal. Federal Yoshino departed for Toledo. Calumet is on another shuttle.
September 25
Cruise ship Hamburg departed late Monday night to Detroit. Arrivals were Ocean Navigator to the Port passenger dock, Victory/Maumee to the Bulk Terminal, and Polsteam’s Jamno to Dock 24W at the Port. Calumet departed for an unknown destination.
September 26
Cruise ship Ocean Navigator departed for Detroit late Monday night. Laura L. VanEnkevort/Joseph H. Thompson is berthed at Dock 28E. The combo was there for a few hours and then departed to Lorain once they found out they were not able to unload at the Port. Herbert C. Jackson unloaded at the Cliffs stone dock, leaving for Toledo once empty. Still at the Port is Polsteam’s Jamno. William C. Gaynor arrived with G tugs Tennessee and Washington in tow to be delivered to the Great Lakes Shipyard. After dropping the tugs at the Shipyard, the Gaynor left for Sturgeon Bay. Sea Eagle II/St. Marys Cement II left for Bowmanville and another load of cement.

After unloading at Osborne, Calumet left for Morton Salt in Detroit.

CSL Tadoussac was a late-night arrival to load at Morton Salt.

The Vermont towed the NACC Alicudi up to Holcim cement stern first at 10:30.
September 26
Karen Andrie brought her barge Endeavor to Buffalo at 07:30. They came in the North Entrance and headed down the Black Rock Canal for Suite Kote in Tonawanda. Around 08:30, the Vermont escorted the Alicudi out from Holcim on her way back to Bath for more cement.
Kingsville, ON – Bill Kloss
Robert S. Pierson unloaded stone at Southwestern Sales Co. and then departed for a return to Lake Ontario on Friday, September 22.

Tanker Birgit Knutsen is loading petroleum products at Imperial Oil.

Still in port are Birgit Knutsen at Imperial Oil and Algoma Sault and CSL Niagara at Stelco.
September 23
CSL Niagara headed to Sandusky after unloading at Stelco. Algoberta joined Birgit Knutsen at Imperial Oil. Algoma Sault left with no updated destination.
September 24
Birgit Knutsen departed for Corner Brook, a port off of the Gulf of St. Lawrence. Algoberta is at Imperial Oil.
September 25
Algosea arrived to load at Imperial Oil, and fleetmate Algoberta departed with petroleum products for Sarnia.
September 26
Algosea is loading at Imperial Oil. Presque Isle arrived with ore for Stelco.
