The 4,285 gross ton deck cargo barge PML 9000 (C822480) joined Purvis Marine Ltd. in 2000. It arrived at Sault Ste. Marie, ON, from Jacksonville, FL, on May 19, 2000, pushed by the Anglian Lady. The vessel was constructed by Bethlehem Steel, Shipbuilding Division, at San Francisco, CA, in 1968 and was originally known as the Palmer.
The 400′ long by 76′ wide by 20′ deep barge initially worked for the Crowley Maritime Corp. before moving to Canada for Great Lakes service under the Purvis banner.
