Algoma Dartmouth was built in 2007 by Turkter Shipyard of Tuzla, Turkey, as the bunkering tanker Clipper Bardolino. She is 296′ 11″ long, 47′ 11″ wide, and 24′ 11″ deep, with a carrying capacity of 3,512 tons deadweight. She is powered by a pair of MAN-B&W 6L23/30A diesel engines, providing 2,310 BHP. She was sold and renamed Samistal Due in 2008. In 2009, she was sold to Algoma Tankers and renamed Algoma Dartmouth. She was reflagged Canadian and entered service as a bunkering tanker in Halifax, Nova Scotia, and later St. John, New Brunswick. Written by Brendan Falkowski. |
