Algoma Compass departs from lay-up
OWEN SOUND, ON – Algoma Central Corporation’s 680’ vessel Algoma Compass departed Owen Sound, ON., early July 13th and sailed to Goderich, ON., for its first load of the season.
A major asset of the four vessel sale from American Steamship Co. to Algoma Central Corporation in late 2017, the Algoma Compass has mostly rotated between lay-up and active trading since the acquisition.
Early literacy skills explored with maritime-themed music and movement class
TOLEDO, OH – On Monday, July 18, at 10:30 AM, the National Museum of the Great Lakes will host another Capt. Scupper’s Songfest: Maritime Music and Movement. This new, small group activity presented by Sing into Reading was developed with children ages 0-6 in mind. During the class, little ones will spend 30 minutes exploring maritime themes through music and movement with a parent or caregiver, followed by open play in the Museum’s “Port of Play,” and exploration of the museum galleries.
