Redhead loses power, delays traffic on the S. Marys
Late Saturday morning, the saltwater vessel Redhead lost power at the lower end of the Rock Cut on the St. Marys River. Three anchors were dropped, and she did not go aground. Arthur M. Anderson, downbound behind her, backed up into the Nine Mile Anchorage. The training vessel State of Michigan soon joined her. The river was closed to downbound traffic pending the results of a sweep of the channel for any obstructions. Traffic resumed around 2 p.m.
