Weather halts traffic at the Soo
Gale warnings and heavy snow sent most vessels in the St Marys River system to anchor Saturday night. Edgar B. Speer, Gardno and Stewart J. Cort were anchored off Paradise at 10 p.m. Saturday. Federal Franklin and Sam Laud were on the hook off of Bay Mills, although the Laud was there awaiting dock space at Algoma Steel. Arthur M. Anderson, Algoma Harvester, Rt. Hon. Paul J. Martin and Atlantic Huron were stopped a Potagannissing Bay above DeTour. Vessels on Lake Superior were taking the north shore course Saturday night to avoid the worst of the weather.
