BARBEAU, MI – The new, 92-foot-long ferry Neebish Islander III was delivered from builder Burger Boat Co. in Manitowoc, WI, Sunday afternoon to her owner, the Eastern Upper Peninsula Transportation Authority, at Barbeau, MI. She arrived in the late afternoon and tied up to a Corps of Engineers dock at the lower end of the rock cut. After crew training and trials, she is expected to enter service between the island and the mainland after a dedication ceremony Nov. 9.
