Duluth Entry
August 28
Paul R. Tregurtha arrived at 00:02 (Central) Monday morning to load low-sulfur coal and petroleum coke at SMET. American Century departed at 00:47 with low-sulfur coal for DTE Energy plants. Paul R. Tregurtha departed at 12:25 with the mixed load for DTE Energy plants at Belle River and Monroe. Spartan and Spartan II departed at 13:28 empty for Ludington. H. Lee White arrived at 18:19 with limestone for Envirotech Hallett #8. Federal Yukina departed at 19:03 with Minntac flux pellets destined for the Netherlands. Walter J. McCarthy Jr. arrived from anchor at 19:32 to load iron ore pellets at CN#6.
August 29
Baie Comeau arrived at 01:49 Tuesday morning with salt from the Ojibway Salt Mine in Windsor intended for Envirotech Hallett #8. Mesabi Miner arrived at 06:34 to fuel and wait at the Port Terminal. Hon. James L. Oberstar arrived at 09:21 with limestone for Graymont.
As of Tuesday night, Walter J. McCarthy Jr. was loading at CN#6, Federal Fraser was unloading at Ash Grove, and Mesabi Miner was waiting at Port Terminal for space at CN. Michipicoten may arrive early morning Wednesday to load under the gravity chutes at CN#6. H. Lee White is estimated to depart early morning with petroleum coke. Walter J. McCarthy Jr. may depart sometime Wednesday, allowing the Mesabi Miner to load under the conveyors. Federal Fraser is estimated to depart late afternoon. Finally, John G. Munson is expected late Wednesday night to possibly load blast furnace trim at Hallett Dock 5.
Superior Entry
August 28
Spruceglen departed at 04:09 (Central) Monday morning with Hibtac pellets for Quebec City. Stewart J. Cort arrived at 04:53 to load next at BNSF.
August 29
The Cort departed at 04:07 Tuesday morning with Hibtac pellets for Burns Harbor. Algoma Discovery arrived at 04:33 to load at BNSF, and they departed at 16:58 with Hibtac pellets for Hamilton. Hon. James L. Oberstar departed empty at 19:44 for Marquette.
As of Tuesday night, H. Lee White was loading at SMET, Baie Comeau was loading at BNSF#5, and Rt. Hon. Paul J. Martin was anchored outside Superior waiting for their turn at BNSF. Baie Comeau is estimated to depart Wednesday afternoon with iron ore pellets. Besides Rt. Hon. Paul J. Martin, American Integrity will be added to the waiting line.
Two Harbors, MN – Gary Putney

As of 19:00, Michipicoten was loading at Two Harbors, and Philip R. Clarke was outside of Two Harbors waiting to load. G3 Marquis was upbound in Whitefish heading for Two Harbors.
August 28
G3 Marquis arrived Two Harbors in the evening to load pellets. Edwin H. Gott was upbound in the St. Marys River headed for Two Harbors.
August 29
G3 Marquis departed Two Harbors at 13:21. I’ll assume for Quebec City. Edwin H. Gott was heading for Two Harbors.
August 31
Edwin H. Gott departed Duluth at 12:04 heading for Nanticoke after undergoing service in Duluth. She did load in Two Harbors. Edgar B. Speer was inbound near Outer Island at 14:30 for the Two Harbors shiploader. The Whitefish Bay was upbound at Whitefish Point at 14:30 for Two Harbors.
Silver Bay, MN – Gary Putney

As of 19:00, Joseph L. Block is heading to Silver Bay, probably to load sinter for Marquette. James R. Barker is upbound in Whitefish heading for Silver Bay

Joseph L. Block was outbound Silver Bay after loading. James R. Barker was heading for Silver Bay to load pellets.
August 29
Joseph L. Block departed Silver Bay at 16:33 for Toledo. James R. Barker arrived Silver Bay after the Block’s departure.
Alpena, MI – Jason Luther

Arriving at Holcim to load cement was G.L. Ostrander/Integrity.
August 28
Arriving at 13:34 was Algoma Buffalo with a load of salt from Goderich. She performed a little dance in the bay before backing up to the dock, passing a small party of well-wishers on the end of the break wall and completing her journey with a salute. Ostrander/Integrity left for Milwaukee at 13:59.
Goderich, ON – Bruce Douglas

Algoma Intrepid cleared at 16:57 Sunday upbound with salt. Algoma Buffalo arrived at 15:07 Sunday and was loading at Compass Minerals.
August 29
Algoma Buffalo arrived at 04:05 Tuesday and was loading at Compass Minerals. This was the Buffalo’s 13th appearance in Goderich this season and the port’s 103rd lake boat overall this season.

Harvest Spirit arrived to unload steel coils.

Sam Laud left with coal for Algoma Steel at the Soo, and Wilf Seymour/Alouette Spirit left for Quebec City. Prentiss Brown/St. Marys Challenger arrived to unload cement.
August 28
Prentiss Brown/St. Marys Challenger departed for Cleveland.
August 29
Arrivals were Dirk S. VanEnkevort/Michigan Trader to Ironville, Algoma Sault to Andersons, CSL Niagara to CSX, American Mariner to Midwest Terminals, Albert/Margaret to the Gradel dock, and Victory/ Maumee to Torco. Dirk S. VanEnkevort/Michigan Trader departed in the evening.

Departures were CSL Niagara to Nanticoke, American Mariner to Charlevoix, and Victory/Maumee to the Soo, stopping for fuel in Detroit. Algoma Sault is at Andersons, and Albert/Margaret is at the Gradel dock.

Departures were American Integrity to Duluth, Clyde S. VanEnkevort/Erie Trader to Stoneport, Celina to Quebec, Gardno to Indiana, and American Courage to Calcite. Mark W. Barker was the lone arrival to Cargill for salt.

Dorothy Ann/Pathfinder unloaded stone at Osborne then left for a return to Marblehead. Sea Eagle II/St. Marys Cement II had a partial cement load to deliver at the St. Marys Jefferson St. facility. Also with a partial load of cement was Prentiss Brown/St. Marys Challenger, unloading at the St. Marys Columbus St. terminal. Mark W. Barker was at Cargill loading salt. G tug Ohio departed to Ashtabula.
August 29
Departing were Prentiss Brown/St. Marys Challenger to Charlevoix, Sea Eagle II/St. Marys Cement II to Bowmanville, ON, and Mark W. Barker to Superior, WI, with salt. The lone arrival was Federal Biscay to the Port, Dock 24W.
August 30
American Courage has returned to unload at Ontario Stone. After unloading, she moved to the Bulk Terminal to load a shuttle. Wilfred Sykes is anchored in the lake, and Federal Biscay is at the Port.
August 31
American Courage is running shuttles. Wilfred Sykes is berthed at Dock 20 waiting to head upriver to Cliffs. Federal Biscay departed to Burns Harbor.
Grand River, OH – Fairport Harbor, OH – Bill Kloss

After unloading at Osborne, Mark W. Barker departed for Cleveland.

Frontenac is loading salt at Morton.
August 29
Frontenac loaded at Morton Salt and left for Toronto. Defiance/Ashtabula is unloading across the Grand River at Osborne Stone.

After unloading at Osborne, Defiance/Ashtabula left for Marblehead.

Defiance/Ashtabula returned from Marblehead to unload stone at Osborne.

Still unloading is Federal Mayumi, and still anchored is CSL St-Laurent.

American Mariner has limestone for the stone dock.

Madison R. and G tug Ohio arrived to take Tecumseh to Port Colborne and eventual scrapping at MRC. American Mariner departed for Toledo. Still unloading is Federal Mayumi at the Pinney Dock. CSL St-Laurent is still anchored.
August 30
Federal Mayumi finally finished unloading and departed for Thunder Bay, and CSL St-Laurent weighed anchor and went to the Pinney dock to unload.
August 31
CSL St-Laurent is at the Pinney Dock. Federal Franklin arrived from the Port Colborne anchorage and is anchored again in Lake Erie.

The tug Vermont came out to tow the NACC Alicudi in stern-first for the Holcim dock at 08:30.
August 29
NACC Alicudi was all done unloading at Holcim and departed at 04:30 with the Vermont back aft checking her swing down to Michigan St.
August 31
The John J. Boland came in with sand from Brevort for CSI on the morning of August 31. She went up the City Ship Canal at 04:30 and spent the day unloading her cargo all along the wharf on both sides of the drier building.

Saginaw arrived to unload stone at Southwestern Sales Co.
August 31
Saginaw unloaded and then left for Calcite.
Nanticoke, ON – Bill Kloss

Harvest Spirit was loading at Stelco, and Algotitan was loading at Imperial Oil.
August 28
Harvest Spirit departed for Monroe, MI. Algotitan was still at Imperial Oil.
August 29
Algotitan left with petroleum products for Tracy, PQ. Atlantic Huron arrived to unload ore at Stelco.
August 30
Departing was Atlantic Huron to Meldrum Bay. Arriving was CSL Niagara with coal for Stelco, Algoberta to the dock at Imperial Oil, and Algonova going to anchor off of Port Dover.
August 31
Departing were CSL Niagara to Sandusky and Algoberta. Algonova moved to Imperial Oil.
