BUFFALO,NEW YORK [USBUF]-Brian Wroblewski
The REPUBLIC had the shorter unload and was all done by 11:45 that night. She backed out for the lake by herself, winded on the thrusters off the Coast Guard Base, and departed for Brevort to load more sand.
The SUNNANVIK wrapped up at Holcim on the early morning of the 14th and backed out at 4:00AM without tugs through some light ice in the river. She turned herself around to point out the North Entrance with her thrusters and departed for Port Colborne. Upon arrival about an hour later, the speedy little red ship zipped right past all the Salties in the anchorage that were waiting on canal pilots and headed down the ditch for Bath to load more cement.
