PORT REPORT 12/3/2024
BUFFALO,NEW YORK [USBUF]-Brian Wroblewski
Around 2AM on December 1st, the INNOVATOR pulled up the hooks and got underway for Lackawanna. She made it just past Windmill Point when they changed their minds, turned around, and then went to anchor in the lake.
Conditions were finally right for the ALGOMA INNOVATOR to head in on the morning of the 2nd so she got on the move at 7AM. She came through the breakwall at the South Entrance and went straight up the Lackawanna Canal to the Compass Minerals salt dome about a half hour later. During the evening, around 5PM, the MANITOULIN arrived for the ADM Standard elevator with a load of Canadian Red Wheat from Thunder Bay. She met the tug VERMONT in the Outer Harbor, winded off the Coast Guard Base, and was towed up the Buffalo River stern first. The ship was tied up for unloading by 7PM and released her tug.
