BUFFALO,NEW YORK [USBUF]-Brian Wroblewski
The tug NEW YORK and her asphalt barge DS509A arrived from Detroit and went to anchor off the Buffalo breakwall at 3AM on the 29th to wait for the Black Rock Lock to open. Around 7:30AM the tug started in for the North Entrance on the push and met the VERMONT off the Erie Basin. The Ryba Marine tugs were also lurking about doing their dredging work off Lighthouse Point so they stayed in the clear while the NEW YORK – DS509A – VERMONT combo made safe passage past the work site. After transiting downbound at Black Rock, the NEW YORK took her barge down the Niagara River to the Suite Kote pier, arriving there for unloading around 10AM.

7/29/2024 American Courage did not go to Marblehead as reported yesterday and went back to the Bulk Terminal to load a shuttle.

7/28/2024 Dirk S.VanEnkevort/Michigan Trader departed for Marine City. Northern Venture weighed anchor to load at Holcim. After a quick load she left for Windsor. Next to arrive was Robert S. Pierson for limestone at Holcim.

7/28/2024 Sandusky, OH: Algoma Sault arrived for coal at Norfolk Southern.
7/29/2024 Algoma Sault departed to Toledo and CSL Niagara arrived to load at Norfolk Southern. Once loaded she left for Nanticoke.

TOLEDO, OHIO [USTOL]-Bill Kloss
7/28/2024 Departing were Hon. James L. Oberstar to Marquette and Algoma Sault to Sandusky. Arriving were CSL Niagara to load coal at CSX, Albert/Margaret to load at the Gradel dock and John J. Boland to Torco.
7/29/2024 H. Lee White is unloaded ore at Torco, Algoma Sault loaded coal at CSX and John J. Boland is at Midwest Terminals and Calumet has salt for the ARMS dock. Once empty the White departed for Sandusky and Algoma Sault left for Hamilton.
