Sunnanvik departed for Bath, ON. Federal Churchill is unloading at Sucro Sourcing. A late night arrival was Manitoulin.

The SUNNANVIK had a couple days of bad luck going here. The Captain ordered a tug for departure at 7AM on the 22nd since his stern thruster was still down. An unforeseen delay of some kind set them back to 1PM instead. The tug VERMONT came down, hooked up the tow, and then everything got canceled on account of some engine problems. This caused another delay until the next day.
On the morning of June 23rd, the VERMONT came back to help them again but was stopped at Ohio St. waiting for a bridge tender to show up. Phone calls to the Great Lakes Towing office and subsequently the City Of Buffalo DPW were then made. After about a half hour, the city bridge operator came down to lift the bridge for them. Then, as they were pulling away from the dock around 6:30AM, a crew member arrived for the ship and everything came to a stop again. The tug dropped her tow line, & came around to help stop the swing on the stern. After getting a good bite, the VERMONT helped them back up against the dock. Once they had the late arrival on board, SUNNANVIK hooked up the the tug back aft and they finally headed out on the 3rd try. Everything then went well with the exception of the wind. The Captain stated that the ship is small and maneuverable, but that her large stern house catches the breeze pretty good. He said that “She likes the wind” and that “She’l bob around like a cork”. The rest of the tow was uneventful and they dropped the tug in the Outer Harbor. SUNNANVIK winded by herself with the bow thruster and departed under an early morning gathering gloom at 7:30AM, bound for Bath. I bet the crew was happy to finally get out of here after all that nonsense for two extra days.
