The saltwater freighter TORRENT arrived off Lackawanna from the Port Colborne Anchorage at 8AM on the dark & gloomy morning of the 19th. She met the tug VERMONT in the South Entrance and came straight in for the Gateway Metroport Main Dock with a load of sugar from Argentina. The VERMONT came alongside the Port bow to act like a thruster and line her up. As the big saltie entered the slip, VERMONT shifted to the Starboard side and helped them ease their way down the pier to the Sucros Sourcing refinery. After securing the ship there, the tug was released and TORRENT will spend a few days unloading sugar.
