Duluth-Superior – Scott Bjorklund
Duluth Entry: Paul R. Tregurtha arrived at 07:03 (CST) Monday morning to fuel then load low sulfur coal at SMET. Dirk S. VanEnkevort and Michigan Trader arrived at 09:01 after failing to break through ice at the Superior entry; they took the Superior front channel down to BNSF for iron ore. Paul R. Tregurtha departed at 21:15 Monday night with low sulfur coal for St. Clair. As of late Monday night, no vessels were in port on the Duluth side. James R. Barker is expected Tuesday afternoon to load iron ore pellets at CN#6.
Superior Entry: Dirk S. VanEnkevort and Michigan Trader departed at 18:47 (CST) Monday evening with ice-breaking assistance from USCG Neah Bay; she was loaded with iron ore for Toledo. As of Monday night, no vessels were in port on the Superior side. H. Lee White is expected Tuesday afternoon to load at BNSF. Michipicoten is expected sometime Tuesday for another load at BNSF.
Two Harbors-Silver Bay – Gary A. Putney
At 19:30 on 04/11/2022 the American Integrity was North of Copper Harbor for Two Harbors. Also for Two Harbors is the Rt. Hon. Paul J. Martin that is stopped near Gros Cap.

Milwaukee, WI – MKE Marine Reports
Carrying a partial load of ethanol, tank barge Margaret with tug Albert cleared for Green Bay at 04:26 Monday. Margaret has been in Milwaukee since December 29. Albert visited Sturgeon Bay before returning February 10.
Muskegon, MI – Muskegon Ships
Algoma Innovator arrived mid-morning on Sunday April 10 with a load of salt for the Salt Dock from Goderich, ON.
Northern Lake Huron
Alpena: Monday; 14:39 Samuel De Champlain / Innovation arrived at the Lafarge plant to load cement products.
Calcite: Monday; 5:11 Defiance / Ashtabula departed for Fairport.
Port Dolomite: Monday; 7:34 Laura L Van Enkevort / Joseph H Thompson arrived to load limestone.
North Channel: Monday; 6:49 CCGS Samuel Risley began ice operations to break out Bruce Mines and Thessalon.
Goderich, ON – Bruce Douglas
Manitoulin cleared 07:00 Monday morning downbound for Toledo with grain. Federal Hudson arrived at 07:02 for the elevators. She is the 10th vessel hosted at Goderich this new season.
Saginaw River – Todd Shorkey
The 2022 commercial shipping season is finally underway on the Saginaw River. Algoma Intrepid arrived Monday morning, traveling up to the Wirt Dock in Essexville to unload Potash at the fertilizer terminal. This first vessel passage was four days later than last season and the latest start since 2014.
Lake Erie Ports – Bill Kloss
Monroe: American Courage arrived at 13:25.
Sandusky: Cuyahoga left Sunday night for Sault Ste. Marie and Kaye E. Barker left for Zug Island.
Cleveland: Sharon M1/Huron Spirit left for Sault Ste. Marie. Petite Forte/St. Marys Cement arrived at 13:34. The combo went to St. Marys Jefferson Street terminal to unload.
Ashtabula: Saltie Ocean Castle arrived at the Pinney dock at 07:39.
Conneaut: John G. Munson departed for Two Harbors at 07:00.
