Duluth-Superior – Scott Bjorklund
Duluth Entry: James R. Barker departed at 14:17 (CST) Friday afternoon with iron ore pellets for Toledo. Mesabi Miner departed at 21:42 Friday night with low sulfur coal for St. Clair. As of Friday night, no vessels were in port on the Duluth side. Since winds have calmed down, a massive flotilla of vessels are approaching the Twin Ports. Burns Harbor is expected Saturday afternoon to load iron ore pellets at CN#6. Kaye E. Barker is expected around the same time, but to unload limestone at CN-Hallett #5. Arthur M. Anderson and Rt. Hon. Paul J. Martin are expected, but will probably anchor since both will be waiting to load at CN. American Century is expected Saturday evening to load low sulfur coal at SMET.
Superior Entry: H. Lee White departed at 19:41 (CST) Friday evening with iron ore pellets for Sault Ste. Marie. Victory and Maumee departed at 21:39 with iron ore pellets for the same location. Indiana Harbor is expected Saturday afternoon to load iron ore pellets at BNSF. Walter J. McCarthy Jr. is expected Saturday evening, but will probably anchor to wait.
Two Harbors-Silver Bay – Gary A. Putney
American Integrity departed Two Harbors on 4/15 at 13:23 for Indiana Harbor. Presque Isle arrived Two Harbors shortly after the American Integrity departed. Due Two Harbors on 04/16/2022 is the Edgar B. Speer. As of the evening of 04/15 the Speer was running the Lake Superior shore of Michigan.
Marquette, MI – Arthur Pickering
April 15th: Severe weather on Lake Superior cause several ship captains to anchor there vessels just outside Marquette harbors. This morning, six vessels could be seen waiting out the storm which included the Arthur Anderson, Kaye Barker, CSL Welland, Whitefish Bay, Rt Hon Paul Martin, and John Munson. Four other vessels were cruising westward hugging the shoreline and passed just outside Marquette harbors including Burns Harbor, Indiana Harbor, American Century, Walter McCarthy, Edgar Speer. By this evening, all vessels were under way cruising close to Michigan and Wisconsin shores. Finally, the Edwin Gott just passed by Marquette as it hugs the coastline to battle the weather.
Milwaukee, WI – MKE Marine Reports
After delivering foreign steel, Federal Freedom cleared for Burns Harbor at 16:06 Thursday. Samuel de Champlain/Innovation cleared for Benton Harbor at 07:25 Friday followed shortly thereafter by Alpena, which cleared for Alpena at 07:36.
Goderich, ON – Bruce Douglas
Federal Hudson continues at the elevators. Capt Henry Jackman is expected in Goderich next followed by Algoma Intrepid.
Lake Erie Ports – Bill Kloss
Monroe: Paul R. Tregurtha arrived at 03:00 to unload coal at DTE. She departed for Superior at 18:58. New York/Double Skin 509A departed for Detroit at 06:38.
Toledo: Evans Spirit arrived at 09:01. Clyde S. VanEnkevort/Erie Trader arrived at 11:46.
Cleveland: Dorothy Ann/Pathfinder left at 07:26 with salt for Milwaukee. Blair McKeil departed for Sandusky at 18:02 and Federal Nakagawa left for Burns Harbor at 18:35. Federal Yukina arrived at 18:50, escorted by G tugs Ohio and Pennsylvania to dock 24W at the Port. NACC Capri was anchored in Lake Erie, then escorted in to LaFarge buy G tug Ohio.
Ashtabula: Sam Laud arrived at 18:33 and Eeborg departed for Chicago at 18:36.
Nanticoke: Algoma Transport arrived at Stelco at 05:17. Algonorth and Algocanada remain anchored.
