Duluth-Superior – Joshua Hebeisen
Things are quieting down in the Twin Ports after the weekend’s weather-induced influx of vessel activity. Paul R. Tregurtha was the only vessel through the Duluth Entry on Wednesday, departing at 10:15 after loading coal at Midwest Energy in Superior. The cargo is a split load for DTE’s St. Clair facility and the Consumers Energy Karn Plant near Bay City. Frontenac was similarly the only traffic through Superior, departing at 4:04 from BNSF 5 with a load of Keetac pellets destined for Stelco’s Lake Erie Works in Nanticoke. John D. Leitch continued unloading her cargo of salt at Duluth’s Compass Minerals dock and is due next at BNSF in Superior. Ocean Castle and American Mariner are still loading wheat at Riverland Ag. and Gavilon Grain in Duluth and Superior, respectively. Both have likely been delayed due to rainy weather.
