Duluth, MN – Superior, WI – Joshua Hebeisen
Wednesday’s vessel traffic in the Twin Ports kicked off shortly after midnight with the arrival of the John G. Munson. She entered the Duluth piers at 00:27 and proceeded to CN-Hallett Dock 5 with a cargo of limestone. Across the bay, Indiana Harbor departed Elevator M after taking a delay and was outbound the Superior Entry at 00:32 for Two Harbors. Victory/Maumee were outbound Superior at 05:31 with Keetac pellets for the Soo, and CSL Tadoussac arrived from anchorage just after the pair departed to take their place at BNSF Dock 5. Dirk S. VanEnkevort/Michigan Trader, next in line to load at the dock, anchored off the Superior piers at around 10:00 to wait. Back in Duluth, John G. Munson departed light for Two Harbors at 12:03, and Hudsongracht arrived at 13:16 to unload quartz bags at Clure Public Marine Terminal Berth 2. As CSL Tadoussac began making preparations to depart BNSF with Keetac pellets for Nanticoke, Dirk S. VanEnkevort/Michigan Trader weighed anchor and arrived through the Duluth Entry at 14:38 to get in position to load. The pair was able to tie up at the dock immediately after the Tadoussac departed Superior at 15:34. Manitoulin anchored off the Superior piers at 18:00 to wait her turn at BNSF. 

Two Harbors, MN – Silver Bay, MN – Gary Putney
Sam Laud arrived Two Harbors on Wednesday at 06:20 for lay-by and possibly a partial load at north of #2, while Indiana Harbor was inbound at 01:49 to load at south of #2. She departed Two Harbors at 13:37 for Conneaut. Sam Laud moved to anchor off the breakwater to make way for John G. Munson; the latter arrived at 13:02 for north of #2 before shifting to south of #2 between 15:05 and 15:21. 

Thunder Bay, ON – Anonymous
Kaministiqua finished loading grain and departed Tuesday at 21:21 for the Soo Locks. Also calling on the port for grain was Harvest Spirit, arriving at Viterra Terminal A to load at 15:07 Wednesday. The saltie Ruddy departed Thunder Bay Terminals for an overseas port at 15:49 after loading with potash, and Osogovo took her place at 16:10 to take on the same cargo. G3 Marquis departed for Hamilton at 17:52.

Northern Lake Michigan Ports – Anonymous
Port Inland, MI: Wilfred Sykes arrived to load limestone at 19:30 Tuesday before departing for Indiana Harbor at 08:21 Wednesday. Kaye E Barker was inbound for the same cargo at 09:13.
Charlevoix, MI: Caroline McKee/Commander finished loading cement Wednesday morning and departed at 03:40 for Chicago. At 18:11, Undaunted/Pere Marquette 41 arrived the St Marys Cement plant to unload gypsum from South Chicago.

Southern Lake Michigan Ports  Joshua Hebeisen
Calumet Harbor, IL: G.L. Ostrander/Integrity arrived at 00:28 to discharge cement products at Lafarge’s facility near Turning Basin Number 5. Farther up the river, Algoma Sault finished unloading her cargo of salt and departed at 04:31 for Thunder Bay. The Ostrander pushed her barge outbound at 23:38; the pair is due next in St. Joseph. Fivelborg remains tied up at the Iroquois Landing Lakefront Terminus.
Indiana Harbor, IN: James R. Barker finished unloading ore at Dock 7H and was outbound for the lake at 15:02. AIS indicates she will load next at Two Harbors. Walter J. McCarthy Jr. arrived at 15:46 to discharge ore at 7H; like the Barker, her cargo from CN Dock 6 in Duluth is likely UTAC product.
Buffington, IN: Joyce L. VanEnkevort/Great Lakes Trader arrived at 19:22.
Burns Harbor, IN: Manitowoc arrived at 21:44 and docked at the Cleveland-Cliffs slip. Federal Nakagawa remained at the Metro Ports facility.

Northern Lake Huron Ports – Anonymous
Alpena, MI: Samuel de Champlain/Innovation finished taking on cement products at Lafarge and departed for Chicago at 06:08. With the dock clear, Alpena weighed anchor at 07:43 and proceeded inbound to load.
Port Dolomite, MI: American Courage arrived Tuesday at 18:30 to load limestone. Arthur M. Anderson arrived and went to anchor the following morning at 08:39.
Thessalon, ON: Frontenac weighed anchor at noon Wednesday and proceeded to the dock to load trap rock.

Goderich, ON – Bruce Douglas
Algoma Innovator departed Tuesday at 20:04 with salt for Muskegon. Algoma Conveyor arrived at 09:26 Wednesday morning and is on the hook outside Goderich. The crew may be “scrubbing” the hull before loading. This is the Conveyor’s second appearance in port this season.

Lake Erie Ports – Bill Kloss
Monroe, MI: Calumet was a late Wednesday arrival.
Toledo, OH: Herbert C. Jackson left at 16:10 for Burns Harbor.
Marblehead, OH: Laura L. VanEnkevort/Joseph H. Thompson departed for Lorain at 04:11. Cuyahoga arrived at the dock at 06:24; she loaded for a return to Kingsville.
Lorain, OH: Laura L. VanEnkevort/Joseph H. Thompson arrived at 06:56 to unload stone at Lafarge.
Cleveland, OH: Defiance/Ashtabula arrived at 04:03 to unload scrubber stone at the Bulk Terminal. She left for Cedarville at 17:26, and Algoma Buffalo arrived to load salt at Cargill. Dorothy Ann/Pathfinder is on the shuttles.
Nanticoke, ON: Presque Isle departed at 01:55 and is anchored off of Erie. Algonova left for Oakville at 06:18. Edwin H. Gott and Algocanada are both due on Wednesday. 

Hamilton, ON – Joshua Hebeisen
Algoma Transport arrived at 00:22 for ArcelorMittal Dofasco Pier 20 with coal from CSX in Toledo. Vlieborg was inbound at 07:18 and joined Tundra, Mandarin, Marietje Deborah, and Perelik at anchor. After unloading her cargo of urea, Belasitza departed for Sarnia at 09:34. The Transport finished discharging coal and made her way out to Lake Ontario at 14:38; Florence Spirit was also outbound at 22:53 after unloading steel coils. The two vessels are due next in Goderich and Detroit, respectively. Other activity in the harbor included Federal Champlain loading grain at the Richardson Terminal, Damia Desgagnes refueling with LNG at Lafarge, and Johanna G offloading steel at Federal Marine Terminals East.
