Thunder Bay, ON – Joshua Hebeisen
Just one departure on the day, but it was a fitting one, with Federal Montreal leaving for Montreal, QC, at 16:46. In reality, the saltie will likely be making only a brief stop in her namesake port before sailing on for an overseas destination. A bulk cargo from Thunder Bay Terminals is in her holds.
Saturday’s Federal quartet was rounded out by Federal Oshima at Viterra A, Federal Cedar at Keefer Terminal, and Federal Frontier in the anchorage. Ocean Castle would join the latter around 22:00.
Two Harbors, MN – Gary Putney
Arthur M. Anderson departed Two Harbors at 05:43 for the Gary Works. The Edgar B. Speer is around Keweenaw heading for the Two Harbors shiploader.
Port Inland, MI – Joshua Hebeisen
Herbert C. “Action Jackson” cleared Carmeuse at 00:19 bound for Erie, PA.
Calcite, MI – Joshua Hebeisen
Inseparable as of late, Grand River fleetmates American Mariner and Sam Laud would once again find themselves side-by-side in a Michigan port. With Mariner to the north and Laud to the south, the pair loaded limestone well into Saturday morning until the former departed for Ashtabula, OH, at 10:50. The Laud would immediately shift up to the northern berth to finish her load, leaving exactly 9 hours later for an unknown destination. The river-class boat appears to be headed south as well, so it’s entirely possible that she might cross paths with her best friend in the not-so-distant future…

Toledo, OH – Bil Kloss
Arriving were Algoma Sault and Joyce L. VanEnkevort/Great Lakes Trader.
Cleveland, OH – Bill Kloss
Mark W. Barker departed with road salt for Milwaukee. Arrivals were Happy Ranger to the Port dock 22E and Sharon M1/Huron Spirit to Dock 24N at the Port. American Courage is on the shuttles.

John J. Boland delivered limestone to Carmeuse.
Nanticoke, ON – Bill Kloss
Algoberta is loading at Imperial Oil and Rt. Hon. Paul J. Martin unloaded ore at Stelco.
