Duluth, MN – Superior, WI – Joshua Hebeisen
I will resume reporting for my ports on Thursday, December 15. A summary of the action from Monday through Wednesday will be included.
Marquette, MI – Oggdo Bogdo
Victory/Maumee left for Toledo at 03:29, undoubtedly to chase its tug/barge friend Dirk S. VanEnkevort/Michigan Trader from the previous day. They would be replaced by the now-frequent visitor Wilfred Sykes at 07:02, which is a welcome change of scenery for this last stretch of the season. The Sykes would sail away at 15:03 in the afternoon, destined for Indiana Harbor, her most frequent port of call. With the Sykes becoming a less unusual sight at Marquette, will a new ship take her place as a rare visitor? The answer is yes- the Manitowoc is headed up for her first visit of the season, though technically her third of the year. Indeed, the Manitowoc makes a habit of visiting during the waning days and weeks of the season, so she made two visits earlier in January of this year. Also arriving soon are less rare vessels Lee A. Tregurtha and Hon. James L. Oberstar.

While we do not currently have daily write-ups for the following ports, their respective port authority websites post schedules of vessel traffic that are embedded below. Each schedule takes the form of a miniature webpage within a box – scroll with your cursor within the box (or slide your finger within the box on a mobile device) to move through the schedule as you would a normal webpage. To move up or down the actual Port Reports page itself, make sure your cursor/finger is outside of the box.
