Duluth, MN – Superior, WI – Joshua Hebeisen
I am still working on college finals and expect to resume my port coverage this weekend, at which point I will report on traffic for the entire week. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Lake Erie Ports – Bill Kloss
Monroe, MI: Harvest Spirit emptied out and departed for Thunder Bay, ON. James R. Barker delivered coal to DTE. Everlast/Norman MacLeod was a late night arrival to the Port dock to unload asphalt.
Sandusky, OH: Herbert C. Jackson loaded coal and departed for Zug Island in Detroit, MI.
Lorain, OH: Sam Laud arrived from Cleveland and is at Carmeuse. She unloaded 10,000 tons of stone there. It was a split load between Cleveland and Lorain. This is the last boat of the season to Carmeuse here.
Cleveland, OH: NACC Argonaut is at Holcim Cement. Departing was Sam Laud for Lorain and Laura L. VanEnkevort/Joseph H. Thompson to Marblehead. Federal Dart is at Dock 24W and Qamutik is at Dock 22E, both at the Port. American Courage is still running shuttles.
Ashtabula, OH: Cuyahoga departed for Windsor, ON.
Conneaut, OH: Defiance/Ashtabula loaded ore and left for Gary, IN.
Nanticoke, OH: Algoma Transport departed for Clarkson, ON. Algosea is at anchor and Federal Clyde moved to load at Stelco. Due in next is Algoma Hansa.
Seaway – René Beauchamp
The Vezhen (IMO 9937270) anchored at Pointe-aux-Trembles on December 15 awaiting her departure for Hamilton. This will be her first Seaway transit. Including her transit, it will make a total of 40 new ocean-going merchant ships, with their current name, this year.
