Presque Isle was on track to arrive Two Harbors just before midnight Friday, Dec 15th. Fleetmate Great Republic was on track to arrive in the vicinity of Two Harbors two or three hours after Presque Isle, on the early morning of Saturday, Dec 16th

Arthur M. Anderson departed Duluth Entry late evening Thursday, December 14th with iron ore pellets for Cleveland, OH after a relatively fast 8 hour load from CN 6.
Radcliffe R. Latimer departed Duluth Entry just about an hour after midnight early Friday morning, December 15th, light for Thunder Bay, ON.
American Integrity departed Duluth Entry just before 5am Friday morning, December 15th with coal from the Midwest Energy Terminal for St. Clair, MI & Monroe, MI.
Walter J. McCarthy Jr. shifted from their lay-by berth on the east side of CN Dock 6 to the ship-loader / shuttle conveyor berth on the inner end of the west face of Dock 6 late Thursday evening, Dec 14th after Arthur M. Anderson cleared. The McCarthy began easing away from their loading berth just before 8pm Friday evening, Dec 15th, expected to depart the Duluth Entry with iron ore pellets for the lower Lakes.
During the rainy, still, and often foggy daylight hours on Friday, December 15th, several ships expected to stay in port beyond the 15th were at berths around the harbor. James R Barker continued their stay for mechanical work at Port Terminal berth 2. Canada-owned, Hong Kong-managed, Marshall Islands-flagged oceangoing freighter Federal Alster was just across the slip from the Barker at Port Terminal 8 unloading structural steel that was put aboard in Belgium. Polish-owned, Bahamas-flagged ocean-going freighter Narie (Polish pronunciation goes something like “NAR-yeh”) spent the day berthed at CHS 1 but the elevator terminal refrained from commencing wheat loading operations due to the wet weather.
Kaye E. Barker was expected at the Duluth Entry late in the evening Friday, December 15th with limestone from Calcite, MI for the Graymont lime manufacturing plant. After unloading the Kaye E. Barker is expected to shift to Midwest Energy to load Colorado-mined coal for Green Bay, WI.
John G. Munson, earlier slated to load at BNSF in Superior, was now bound for Duluth as of Friday evening, due to arrive Duluth Entry just before dawn on Saturday, December 16th to load iron ore pellets at CN 6.
Indiana Harbor was expected at the Duluth Entry around sunrise Saturday morning, December 16th, although clouds, a rain/snow mix, and stiff northeasterly winds in the forecast might not make it the serene, clear type of scenery that’s become so common during the unusually dry and warm November/early December the region has been experiencing. Indiana Harbor is expected to load coal at the Superior Midwest Energy Terminal (SMET); the thousand foot self-unloader may be approaching Duluth-Superior at around the same time Kaye E. Barker might be finishing up their limestone delivery and shifting to Midwest Energy. Either ship might end up berthing at SMET and loading first.
Canada-owned, Hong Kong-managed, Marshall Islands-flagged oceangoing bulker Federal Katsura was on track to be approaching the Duluth Entry an hour after noon on Saturday, December 16th. They’re listed as due to load wheat at the CHS grain terminal; no indication at this time whether Katsura will anchor and wait to load at CHS 1 after Narie vs. arrive directly to the facility’s second loading berth.

Clyde S. VanEnkevort/Erie Trader departed the Superior Entry with iron ore pellets from BNSF for Toledo, OH around 4:30am Friday morning, December 15th, at about the same time American Integrity was departing the Duluth Entry six miles to the north-northwest.
CSL Assiniboine, which had been at anchor outside Superior since late Thursday evening, arrived the Superior Entry about half an hour after Clyde S./Erie Trader departed. Assiniboine was underway from BNSF again just before 8pm Friday, December 15th, loaded with iron ore pellets to be taken to Québec, QC, delivered to a transshipment terminal there, and re-loaded onto a large oceangoing bulker for export to a steel mill somewhere in Europe.
With the BNSF dock clear Friday evening, upbound John D. Leitch and Algoma Guardian had ETAs for the Superior Entry that were nearly neck and neck. Either of the two Algoma Central Marine fleet-mates may end up loading at BNSF first; the other is likely to anchor outside Superior.
CSL Laurentien was on track to join in at anchor waiting for BNSF outside Superior around sunrise Saturday, December 16th.
