Duluth, MN – Superior, WI – Joshua Hebeisen
26th traffic began at noon as H. Lee White cleared with ore for an unlisted destination. G-tug Missouri escorted her out from the CN 6 shiploader to the Aerial Lift Bridge; in the meantime, Arthur M. Anderson received an assist of her own as Heritage Marine’s Helen H. helped her over to the loader from her lay-by berth on the east side. Joyce L. VanEnkevort/Great Lakes Trader continue waiting off the piers for their turn after AMA.
Shortly after 13:00, John G. Munson got going from the anchorage and began to head farther up the lake for Two Harbors, where fleetmate Edwin H. Gott was taking on pellets in Agate Bay. The classic laker turned away before completing the trip, however, perhaps indicating an unexpected delay in the Gott’s loading process. Munson returned to anchor empty-handed about three hours after she left.
Mesabi Miner was the final of only two passages on the day. The big footer came through an icy canal in frigid temps before heading to the fuel dock, later casting off and making her way down to SMET with a Missouri assist through the ice. John J. Boland, waiting across the bay at CN-Hallett 5, is due at the dock next. American Integrity remains at BNSF after a loading delay, with Michipicoten, CSL Laurentien, and Clyde S. VanEnkevort all in line after her.
