Buffalo, NY – Brian Wroblewski
The last arrival for 2022 was the Rt. Hon. PAUL J MARTIN on the morning of the 31st. She came in with a partial coal load from Sandusky at 7AM and was headed to Gateway Metroport to load more. The tug VERMONT came down from Buffalo and broke ice for her by making a few runs down the Lackawanna Canal before the ship was inside the breakwall. Once the MARTIN made it in from the lake, the tug helped the big laker wind in the ice off the CRH plant. After getting the line up they wanted, the VERMONT stayed on the Starboard side and assisted her up the Lackawanna Canal stern first for the bulk loading apron at the Main Dock.
