Duluth-Superior – Scott Bjorklund
Duluth Entry: Wilfred Sykes arrived at 21:42 (CST) Wednesday night to load iron ore pellets at CN#6. American Integrity departed at 07:48 Thursday morning with low sulfur coal for St. Clair. As of Thursday night, Wilfred Sykes was still loading at CN#6. American Century is estimated to depart Thursday night with low sulfur coal. Rt. Hon. Paul J. Martin is expected later Thursday night to load petroleum coke at SMET. James R. Barker is expected Friday morning to load low sulfur coal at SMET. Mesabi Miner is expected early afternoon to load iron ore pellets at CN#6. Finally, Paul R. Tregurtha is expected early afternoon to fuel then load low sulfur coal at SMET.
Superior Entry: American Mariner departed at 17:08 (CST) Thursday evening with iron ore pellets for Sault Ste. Marie. Michipicoten arrived at 17:19 to load at BNSF. As of Thursday night, Michipicoten was loading at BNSF while American Century was loading at SMET; Stewart J. Cort was waiting at anchor outside Superior for BNSF. Michipicoten is estimated to depart early Friday with iron ore pellets. After Stewart J. Cort, CSL Tadoussac is expected early afternoon to load at BNSF.
Two Harbors-Silver Bay – Gary A. Putney
The American Spirit departed Two Harbors on 12/30 at 08:05 for Gary. Arriving Two Harbors on 12/30 at 08:29 was the Presque Isle after having been stopped off Two Harbors. Waiting for the Two Harbors dock is the Edgar B. Speer. As of 19:00 on 12/30 she is still anchored off Bark Pt. Due Two Harbors on 12/31 are the Defiance/Ashtabula and the Walter J. McCarthy Jr. Northshore Mining in Silver Bay has no traffic scheduled on 12/31. There are two VanEnkevort ATBs on Lake Superior, but both are showing a Superior AIS destination
Goderich, ON – Bruce Douglas
Saginaw arrived at 20:51 Wednesday night for the elevators; this is their 3rd appearance here this season. Algoma Sault is expected next.
Lake Erie Ports – Bill Kloss
Monroe: Herbert C. Jackson departed for Alpena at 15:09. Florence Spirit arrived at 16:31 to unload steel coils.
Marblehead: Laura L. VanEnkevort/Joseph H. Thompson arrived at 19:04 to load at LaFarge.
Sandusky: Kaye E. Barker loaded coal and departed for Detroit at 03:39. Calumet arrived at Norfolk Southern at 02::38. She loaded coal for Alpena and departed at 14:00. CSL Niagara is at anchor. Lee A. Tregurtha arrived at 19:53 and went to anchor.
Cleveland: Prentiss Brown/St. Marys Challenger left Wednesday night for Toledo. Laura L. VanEnkevort/Joseph H. Thompson arrived late Wednesday night to unload at RiverDock. The combo departed for Marblehead at 14:17. Corps of Engineers tug Demolen left the Great Lakes Shipyard and is at the Corps Cleveland dock.
Conneaut: Indiana Harbor departed for Duluth Superior. Edwin H. Gott arrived late Thursday night to unload at the P&C dock.
Nanticoke: Algonova is at Imperial Oil. Arthur M. Anderson arrived at Stelco late Thursday night.
Seaway – Rene Beauchamp
Radcliffe R Latimer on approach to Iroquois lock Thursday morning reported #2 engine crankcase explosion. She was allowed to proceed on one engine and is showing a destination of Hamilton.
