Two Harbors-Silver Bay – Gary A. Putney
Two Harbors saw the departure of the Presque Isle on 12/04 at 02:09 for Nanticoke. The American Integrity arrived Two Harbors on 12/04 at 02:56 for South of #2. As of 17:00 she is still at the dock. Due Two Harbors are the Saginaw that is unloading grain at Riverland Ag 2 in Duluth. She arrived Duluth the afternoon of 12/04. Still anchored near Bay Cliff is the James R. Barker. She is due to load in Two Harbors. Also to load in Two Harbors is the Michipicoten. She is currently at Algoma Steel. Northshore Mining in Silver Bay saw the arrival of the Dirk S. VanEnkevort/Michigan Trader on 12/03 at 20:52 and depart for Toledo on 12/04 at 03:25. We have a Winter Storm Warning in Duluth and A Blizzard Warning for the North Shore. Both forecasts are showing possibly 10-16″ of snow and 40mph winds.
Milwaukee, WI – MKE Marine Reports
Federal Baltic was at Federal Marine Terminals unloading steel Saturday (12/04). USACE tugs Racine and Kenosha with Crane Barge Manitowoc were in the inner harbor. They arrived from Waukegan Friday. Samuel de Champlain/Innovation is expected late Saturday night with cement for Lafarge. Algoma Compass should arrive Sunday afternoon with salt from Compass Minerals, Goderich.
Goderich, ON – Bruce Douglas
Andean continues at elevators. Algoma Innovator anchored outside Goderich will load salt later.
Lake Erie Ports for Saturday – Bill Kloss
Monroe: Indiana Harbor departed for Two Harbors at Noon. Walter J. McCarthy arrived with a partial load of coal for DTE at 16:45.
Marblehead: American Courage loaded and left for Cleveland at 00:13. Cuyahoga loaded at LaFarge and left for Windsor at 12:51.
Sandusky: H. Lee White departed with coal for Detroit at 17:56.
Cleveland: Dorothy Ann/Pathfinder arrived at 02:34 to load a shuttle at the Bulk Terminal. American Courage arrived at 04:18 to unload stone at Osborne. Laura L. VanEnkevort/Joseph H. Thompson arrived at 04:51 Sharon MI/Huron Spirit G.L.Ostrander/Integrity arrived at LaFarge at 19:26.
Ashtabula: Spruceglen arrived at 15:34 and anchored in Lake Erie.
Conneaut: Edgar B. Speer unloaded and departed for Two Harbors at 02:38. Fleetmate Arthur M. Anderson arrived at 17:43 and went to the P&C dock to unload.
Nanticoke: Olive L. Moore/Menominee arrived at 13:10 and went to anchor. Algoma Hansa is at Imperial Oil and Algoterra is still anchored.
Buffalo, NY – Brian Wroblewski
NYSPA tugs began installing the Niagara River ice boom during early December. The Joncaire and Breaker were spotted multiple times shuffling boom string sections from their Hamburg St. facilities to the Outer Harbor over the course of a few days during the first week of the month. NACC Argonaut was back for LaFarge at 11PM on the 4th and was towed in by the Vermont.
