Milwaukee, WI – MKE Marine Reports
Algocanada arrived at 07:03 Saturday with petroleum products from the Imperial Oil Refinery in Nanticoke. After discharging her cargo at the city’s Liquid Cargo Pier, she departed for Sarnia Sunday morning. Karen Andrie/Endeavour arrived from Indiana Harbor at 03:53 Monday with liquid asphalt for Construction Resources Management. The pair headed back to Indiana Harbor late Tuesday morning. Algoma Innovator arrived at 09:04 Monday with salt from Compass Minerals, Goderich. After delivering part of her cargo at the Kinder Morgan bagging plant on south slip three of the outer harbor, she moved to south slip one and dropped the remainder of her load on the open dock. She cleared for Goderich at 07:11 Tuesday.
Port Huron, MI – Sarnia, ON – Joshua Hebeisen
Headed back down empty on the return trip from Milwaukee, WI, Algocanada passed fleetmate Algosea in the Port Huron anchorage before entering the St. Clair River at around 06:40 Tuesday morning. Tug Welland provided an assist as the tanker proceeded to the Imperial Oil lower dock, officially making port on the Canadian side of the river at 07:30 and commencing a load of petroleum products destined for Sault Ste. Marie, ON. Algosea got underway from anchor at around the same time and headed south to load at Nanticoke, ON.
Farther down the river, Iver Bright remained at Suncor throughout the course of the day. The bright red tanker had sat at the dock for multiple weeks before her recent run to Detroit, MI, and it figures she may do so again.
Detroit, MI – Windsor, ON – Joshua Hebeisen
Algoma Conveyor was inbound the Motor City at 18:49 Tuesday night, soon to be greeted at the mouth of the River Rouge by twin G-tug sisters Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. The young trio — of which the 2018 Algoma newbuild was actually the oldest — slowly worked their way up the river to Motor City Materials, where the Conveyor will spend the night unloading her salty cargo from Goderich, ON.
Lake Erie Ports – Bill Kloss
Algoterra arrived at the Port Dover anchorage. Algonova departed for Sarnia, ON. Algosea is scheduled as the next tanker to arrive. The tug and barge New York/Double Skin 509A is still in Monroe, MI unloading asphalt.
