Duluth, MN – Superior, WI – Joshua Hebeisen
Just over 24 hours from her arrival the previous morning, Edgar B. Speer cleared the Duluth Ship Canal at 05:14 with a full load of Minntac pellets for Gary. This trip for CN Dock 6 was a welcome one after her last Twin Ports visit saw her spend over two weeks at the port terminal for repairs. Mesabi Miner also wrapped up loading early in the morning and made her way outbound Superior at 07:57; a relatively rare trip for the footer had seen her load 58,000 tons of Hibtac pellets for Burns Harbor at BNSF Dock 5. Upon her departure, the American Century shifted from Enbridge to the dock to take on her own load of taconite. CSL Tadoussac, due next after the Century, went to anchor off the piers at 13:45. A relatively quiet weekend in the harbor should be followed by an exciting Monday, with fan-favorite steamer Wilfred Sykes scheduled to arrive beneath the Aerial Lift Bridge mid-afternoon.
