Two Harbors, MN – Gary Putney

Thunder Bay, ON – Joshua Hebeisen
The British were coming at T-Bay early Tuesday morning thanks to an arrival by little gray saltie Vectis Progress. Flying the flag of Great Britain, she would tie up at Keefer Terminal just after 02:00 and stay put for the rest of the day. Florence Spirit arrived at 07:12 for a quick load at P&H, getting back out to the lake by midnight with an AIS destination of Baie-Comeau, QC.
Other vessels in port included Eider at Thunder Bay Terminals and Andean at Keefer. Lubie patrolled the anchorage for another day, though she was joined by Federal Nakagawa in the morning and Blacky later in the evening.
Monroe, MI – Bill Kloss

Toledo, OH – Bill Kloss
Departures were Evans Spirit to Thunder Bay and Kaye E. Barker to Zug Island. Albert/Margaret is at George Gradel and Algoma Sault is at Anderson’s. Herbert C. Jackson remains in dry dock.
Marblehead, OH – Bill Kloss
Algoma Buffalo loaded stone and departed for Windsor, ON.
Sandusky, OH – Bill Kloss
Manitoulin arrived for a load of coal.
Cleveland, OH – Bill Kloss
Arthur M. Anderson departed for Drummond Island once empty. After unloading at Osborne, Dorothy Ann/Pathfinder went to the Bulk Terminal to load a shuttle for Cliffs once the Anderson cleared the breakwall. American Courage departed for Cedarville. Cruise ship Viking Polaris arrived for her third visit to Cleveland. The tanker Selenka has a long offload of palm oil and it’s expected to be a 2 to 3 day unload.
Fairport Harbor, OH – Bill Kloss
John J. Boland left for Calcite once empty.
Ashtabula, OH – Bill Kloss
Manitoulin unloaded stone, then departed to Sandusky.
Nanticoke, ON – Bill Kloss
Algoterra departed with petroleum products for Tracy, QC. Algosea is at the dock. Edwin H. Gott arrived with ore for Stelco.
Welland Canal – Joshua Hebeisen
Tuesday on the Welland Canal was a boatwatcher’s paradise and a lockmaster’s nightmare as vessel traffic finally picked up the pace after remaining stagnant since Sunday night. Following the two-day delay due to a power outage, Captain Henry Jackman, CSL Laurentien, John D. Leitch, Baie Comeau, Atlanticborg, Spartan/Spartan II, USCGC Hollyhock, Fuldaborg, Atlantic Huron, Algoterra, Algoma Innovator, Algoma Mariner, Ocean Navigator, Spruceglen, Algoma Strongfield, Federal Churchill, CSL Welland, Federal Ruhr, G3 Marquis, Algotitan, Radcliffe R. Latimer, Algoma Transport, and Isa were all among traffic to pass through Port Weller, ON, or Port Colborne, ON, in the span of just 24 hours. Not bad.
