Duluth, MN – Superior, WI – Joshua Hebeisen
Late Wednesday evening, Hon. James L. Oberstar finished unloading her stone cargo at Graymont and departed for Marquette at 22:44, this time making use of the Superior Entry. This would be the extent of Twin Ports traffic until Thursday afternoon, when the like-named footers Indiana and Burns Harbors made their own departures at 12:30 and 14:50 from Duluth and Superior, respectively. Both vessels are headed to their namesake ports with taconite pellets. Joyce L. VanEnkevort/Great Lakes Trader arrived Superior at 15:17 after slowing down in the lake to give the outbound Burns Harbor room to maneuver. The pair is currently taking on a load of Hibtac pellets at BNSF Dock 5. Arriving at 19:49 in Duluth was the handsome Joseph L. Block, making just her third appearance of the season. She is discharging a split cargo of dolomite and limestone at the CN Dock 6 receiving hopper, after which she will shift to load under the conveyors.

Marquette, MI – Arthur Pickering
Yesterday, the Lee Tregurtha made a visit to the ore dock in the upper harbor.  Very early this morning, the American Spirit arrived.  This afternoon, the Hon. James Oberstar is scheduled for a visit to the ore dock.

Brevort, MI – Joshua Hebeisen
Defiance/Ashtabula departed at 23:20 on Wednesday night for Buffalo.

Port Inland, MI – Joshua Hebeisen
John J. Boland was outbound at 03:07 with a stone cargo for the Twin Ports; Undaunted/Pere Marquette 41 were next in at 14:27 before departing for Holland at 18:57.

Milwaukee, WI – MKE Marine Reports
USCGC Mobile Bay arrived from Sturgeon Bay at 15:51 Wednesday and tied up at the Coast Guard facility adjacent to the Lake Express Ferry dock. Prentiss Brown/St. Marys Challenger arrived from Calumet Harbor at 21:48 with cement for the Kinnickinnic River terminal and cleared for Charlevoix Thursday morning. Alpena arrived from Alpena at 00:10 Thursday with cement for Lafarge. Kaye E. Barker arrived from Stoneport at 01:24 with scrubber stone for the We Energies Oak Creek power complex. After dropping about 26,000 metric tons on the north end of Jones Island, she cleared for Port Inland at 11:25.

Southern Lake Michigan Ports – Joshua Hebeisen
Calumet Harbor, IL: Caroline McKee/Commander were back with cement for St. Marys at 09:53. Calumet Harbor would next receive the most talked-about vessel on the lakes at the moment when unique saltie Máxima made port at 18:03 and spun around for the Iroquois terminal.
Indiana Harbor, IN: Departing at 01:15 from Dock 7H was Mesabi Miner. Her AIS has been flipping between the Twin Ports and Two Harbors, but currently shows Duluth. Wilfred Sykes arrived from Burns Harbor at 20:24 for Indiana Harbor West.
Buffington, IN: Great Republic arrived at 10:15, unloaded at Carmeuse, and departed for Calcite at 18:15.
Burns Harbor, IN: Wilfred Sykes steamed out for Indiana Harbor from the Cleveland-Cliffs dock at 18:06. Just across the slip, saltie Edenborg is still tied up at Metro Ports.

St. Joseph, MI – Benton Harbor, MI – Michael Moran
G.L. Ostrander/Integrity remained in port until shortly after 09:00 due to weather. The pair is due next in Muskegon.

Northern Lake Huron Ports – Joshua Hebeisen
Port Dolomite, MI: Sam Laud sailed out of port for Ludington at 01:00.
Drummond Island, MI: Calumet arrived at 01:38 before departing for Fairport at 10:37.
Bruce Mines, ON: Yesterday’s report mistakenly stated that Algoma Compass arrived Bruce Mines around 10:00 Wednesday morning; she had actually arrived Fisher Harbor to unload salt. She would depart Fisher at midnight and then make her way over to Bruce Mines overnight, finally arriving at 22:00 after a brief stint at anchor.
Thessalon, ON: Michipicoten sailed downbound for Windsor at 15:30 after spending 12 hours in port.
Meldrum Bay, ON: CSL Assiniboine was outbound for the lake at 02:20, due next in Nanticoke, with Saginaw taking her place at around 16:15.
Calcite, MI: Arthur M. Anderson departed at 12:10 for Duluth, H. Lee White followed her outbound at 14:42 for Ashtabula, and Manitowoc made a stop for stone at 22:53.
Stoneport, MI: Herbert C. Jackson pulled up against the dock around 11:00.

Goderich, ON – Bruce Douglas
Algoma Intrepid arrived 11.43 Thursday and loading at Compass Minerals  11th appearance here this season.

Detroit, MI – Windsor, ON – Joshua Hebeisen
At midnight, veteran workhorse Cuyahoga left Southwestern Sales East and continued downbound for Kingsville on Lake Erie. CSL Tadoussac would get underway on the River Rouge soon after, eventually clearing the Detroit River for Superior at 02:06. Kaministiqua was also upbound after wrapping up at Sterling Fuels just after 03:00. Laden with stone from Thessalon and Meldrum Bay, Lower Lakes Towing’s Robert S. Pierson was inbound for Sterling later in the morning around 07:00; she would later shift to Levy and Superior Materials on the Rouge before continuing south at 21:35. Algoma Innovator was in port from 15:43 to 19:29 for Mistersky on her way to Goderich, John G. Munson arrived at SRM Concrete from Port Inland at 17:28, and Dorothy Ann/Pathfinder were on the Rouge for what appeared to be the Rock Dock later in the evening.

Lake Erie Ports – Bill Kloss
Monroe, MI: American Century was a late night arrival to unload coal at DTE.
Toledo, OH: Departures were Algoma Innovator, Resko and Karen Andrie. Arrivals were Leonard M_/Huron Spirit and John D. Leitch. In port are Algoma Sault and Sarah Andrie.
Kingsville, ON: Cuyahoga arrived at Southwestern Sales Co. to unload stone.
Marblehead, OH: Laura L. VanEnkevort/Joseph H. Thompson arrived at Holcim at 17:59
Lorain, OH: Laura L. VanEnkevort/Joseph H. Thompson arrived at 02:31 to unload stone at Carmeuse. The tug and barge departed for Marblehead at 15:15.
Cleveland, OH: Dorothy Ann/Pathfinder departed at 07:17 with salt for Detroit.
Fairport Harbor, OH: Frontenac arrived in the evening to load at Morton Salt.
Nanticoke, ON: Algosea arrived at Imperial Oil in the evening and joined Algocanada there.

Buffalo, NY – Brian Wroblewski
The Brattensborg arrived at 6:30 AM and was escorted into Gateway Metroport in Lackawanna by the Vermont. Next up will be the Defiance – Ashtabula early on Saturday morning with sand for Canadian Silica.
